General Description
The Trade Compliance Specialist will assist in daily activities of all imports to Samsung Austin Semiconductor (SAS) and assist with Harmonized Tariff System of the US (HTSUS) and Export Control Classification Number (ECCN) classification and work directly with customs brokers regarding the import entries and export filings. Other responsibilities include, but are not limited to: • Research and classify new parts for imports according to the HTSUS • Research and classify parts for export compliance – determining accurate ECCN • Research and respond to Customs requests for information in a timely manner as prescribed by regulation • Assist in risk assessment reviews including quarterly internal assessments for imports and exports • Assist with the annual preparation and distribution of C-TPAT supply chain security letters to suppliers and service providers • Perform Customs portal update of C-TPAT program as required • Work directly with other company departments to obtain information needed for the trade compliance function and to assist in educating them about trade compliance. • Review Automated Commercial Environment (ACE) portal for updates and reports used to maintain compliance • Maintain and update the parts data base with current HTSUS and ECCN numbers • Assist in performing due diligence of individuals and entities in our restricted parties' service subscription • Review relevant federal government agency requirements that include: FDA, FCC, and APHIS • Work directly with third party providers (freight forwarders, Customs Brokers) that handle the Company's imports/ exports and provide support to facilitate the release of import/export shipments. • Other duties may be assigned by management in order to meet the company or business objective on an as needed basis.

Necessary Skills / Attributes
• Bachelor's Degree Required, preferred to be in Supply Chain, Business, or Logistics • Three years of experience working with customs broker, freight forwarder or importer with direct import / export experience • Three years of experience working knowledge with import and export shipments • Working knowledge of ACE (Automated Commercial Environment) , and AES (Automated Export System) • Knowledge of Customs regulations (19 CFR) and tariff classification (HTSUS) • Knowledge of Bureau of Industry & Security Export Regulations • Proficiency with MS Office including Word, Excel, Outlook, etc. • Excellent math skills • Ability to communicate professionally and effectively, written and verbally, with both internal and external customers
