Samsung Electronics America is offering a challenging, 12-week summer internship experience based at our US headquarters in Ridgefield Park, NJ. The internship program is designed to offer meaningful, hands-on experience in various aspects of product marketing for the TV business. The Supply Chain team is the involved in all aspects of the business from forecasting, to PO placement to delivery and sell out. The Supply Chain team's main functions are forecasting sell out, forecasting demand, PO placement and tracking, supply forecasting as well as logistics. We work internally with all of our groups (Marketing, Sales, Logistics, Order Management, and Finance) as well as externally directly with our customers. Our core functions are split out between the CPFR team (Collaborative, Planning, Forecasting & Replenishment) who work with customers directly on demand forecasting and inventory management; and the PSI team (Production, Sales and Inventory) who work on supply forecasting with Marketing, Logistics and the Samsung factories. What will you do? This position will support the development of a comprehensive forecasting model for demand planning that will be complimented with a safety stock planning strategy by model/site. The individual, working with subject matter experts, will gather business requirements, identify gaps and develop a solution to support the new forecasting process.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities – Project Details: Enhance Samsung's forecast capability for managing multiple customers for Regional and Distribution customers into buckets of grouped demand. Demand is not forecasted by accounts in the traditional CPFR process, as the consumer demand is not consistent. However, as a vendor we must be able to support the full line-up of models and deliver within a defined lead-time to the consumer upon order. Procurement and placement of inventory will be dependent on a well-defined forecast. Constant interaction with cross functional departments, Supply Chain Operations, CPFR and PSI will be required. This will require a presentation to key stakeholders. Degree/Background/Experience Required: Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain; MBA preferred but not required Someone who can take direction and work independently Qualifications: High level of proficiency in Excel and PowerPoint Ability to develop and maintain positive working relationships with co-workers at all levels Ability to work cross-functionally with others across the organization Ability to work in a fast-paced environment Internship Eligibility Requirements: Must be enrolled in an accredited University Maintain a 3.0 or higher GPA Provide proper work authorization to University Relations Attend New Hire Orientation on first day
