Position Summary and Project Details: You will work with the Business Planning, Retail Finance team to provide financial and analytical support to the retail operations organization. You will be charged with working towards identifying and implementing a solution to a current financial management challenge. The internship will culminate in a presentation detailing the impact the solution made to the business and recommendations for further expansion and improvement. The hiring manager will provide guidance regarding the project and ongoing support throughout the process. The focus will be on system implementation and process improvement. Projects and deliverables will focus on advancing Retail Finance systems and driving to implementation. You will present your results to the Retail Leadership team and highlight the impact to the business. You will be responsible for reporting qualitative and quantitative analysis on financial transactions that take place at our retail location. You will be responsible for communicating and providing strategic insight around your findings. You will participate in ad hoc accounting and various financial duties as assigned. You will be tasked with project management activities in order to drive alignment with internal business groups. You will also assist in budgeting and company transactions for the Retail COE. General Duties include but are not limited to: •Planning, reporting, and analysis data flows and related tools •Invoice audit, validation, and processing process improvement •Internal relationship management across departments included but not limited to accounting, finance, and retail •Communications with internal and external business partners By the end of the summer you should be able to: At the conclusion of the program the intern should have a functional knowledge of Samsung's financial management process, an understanding of key projects, priorities, and initiatives of the retail organization, and the ability to navigate Samsung's structure to achieve goals If you are interested in a career in: •Financial management •Project management •Business Development Qualifications: • Full time work experience prior to Samsung Electronics. • Proficient use of Excel, Word, PPT, Outlook. • Able to work in an open office environment for extended periods of time. Demonstrated competency in both oral and written communication modes for internal and external personnel at all levels, especially in the sales and marketing, logistical, or financial areas of clients, prospects, and company. Superior level of collateral development and project management skills, including the ability to prepare written plans and schedules, identify objectives, create promotional materials, coordinate and direct project teams, manage creative developers, select and control printing and production resources, and manage budgets. Work independently and in a team environment in order to achieve personal and team goals and complete assignments within established time frames. Physical Demands Work is generally performed in an office environment. Operate a computer keyboard and view a video display terminal between more than 50% of work time, including prolonged periods of time. Requires considerable work utilizing high visual acuity / detail, numeric / character distinction and moderate hand / finger dexterity. The movement and transportation of equipment, most of the time is under 25 pounds. Performs work under time schedules and stress which are normally periodic or cyclical, including time sensitive deadlines, intellectual challenge, some language barriers, and project management deadlines. Machines, tools, equipment, and work aids include PC's, printers, copiers, faxes, and other equipment commonly associated with an office work area. May require working additional hours beyond normal schedule. Travel varies depending on position. Consistently demonstrates a commitment to policies and procedures, including but not limited to, attendance, confidentiality, conflict of interest and ethical responsibilities.
