General Description
Summary / Overview: Seeking technician to work on Material Technology (MT) Excursion Prevention team. Serves as gatekeeper to protect factory by managing incoming raw material across multiple disciplines, including: • Certificate of Analysis (COA) incoming spec review • Out of Control (OOC) response • Vendor investigations • Low grade Process Change Notification (PCN) qualification • Key Performance Indicator (KPI) management • Prequalification/Incoming Quality Control (IQC) support and data analysis Will work closely with material engineers within MT to support specific raw material groups. Opportunity for training, vendor site visits and close coordination with internal and external customers. Role includes project initiation and management around logistics, material improvement and systems. Will develop cradle to grave understanding of material quality issues at all stages of supply chaing, including: vendor manufacturing/management; COA signal recognition/response; leading performance indicators from IQC/prequal; and inline full production signals in Fab. Specific Job Duties: Manage incoming raw material quality: • Data analysis and trend review (ex. OOC response on incoming spec trends; Data review for inline prequal) • Interaction with multiple material suppliers: quality, supply chain management, technical support, improvements, corrective actions • Management and group participation of material issues (SPC, data analysis, 8D development and correction) • Qualifications of materials including: supplier process change notifications, project planning, execution of qualification, data analysis • Interact with various groups on site: Fab engineering, Purchasing, Gas and Chemical Systems, Analysis Lab, Manufacturing • Initiate and lead improvement teams both internal and external to Material Technology • Work with team leadership and engineers to develop and drive goals and improvements for the team • Drive vendor and system improvements utilizing statistical methods and document results • Document all work accurately and promptly in the correct factory system • Complete projects promptly; submit regular and special reports as required • Communicate regularly with others in the engineering, procurement and manufacturing groups, both Samsung Austin and Korea • Create SOPs and optimizing procedures and mentor the team on such items • Support Group Key Metrics (OOCs, scrap, etc.) • Perform other duties as required for factory operation

Education, Training, Certification(s) and Minimum # Years Required: High school diploma required Associate's degree in technical discipline preferred (2 year or 4 year) Knowledge, Skills, Abilities, Software, Tools: (List MOST important requirements first. Previous semiconductor experience preferred Previous experience working with raw materials, suppliers, logistics, Manufacturing or Unit Part engineering preferred Requires strong understanding of Excel, basic understanding of statistics/SPC/OOC methodology Good presentation skills, ability to use Powerpoint Ability to communicate with range of stakeholders (within MT, throughout Samsung locally and in Korea, and with outside vendors) clearly and professionally Quality mindset, ability to problem solve and utilize 8D methodology
