Summary / Overview: Samsung Austin Semiconductor is one of the most advanced semiconductor manufacturing facilities in the United States. SAS produces digital LSI logic components for tablets, smart phones, and other mobile devices. We are looking for a motivated Industrial Waste Treatment (IWT) engineer to perform the responsibilities below so we can continue on our mission to develop a world-class waste disposal and treatment team striving to exceed regulatory expectations. Specific Job Duties: Operations & Maintenance Support • Provide day to day support of operational and maintenance issues of site utility or supporting equipment • Assist/lead in troubleshooting and identifying countermeasures of system operational issues • Review trends, analyze data, and monitor equipment/systems to identify trends and ensure they are running within specifications • Monitor current system demands, identify capacity concerns, and analyze data to predict utility/chemical use Incident Prevention & Repair • Create and modify Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and (preventive) maintenance requirements • Understand and apply Failure Mode Effects Analysis (FMEA) concepts and root cause failure analysis to open-ended problems • Document and report incidents through 8D process • Create and track countermeasures to completion • Coordinate with Environmental team for any compliance issues Improvements • Create, manage, complete, and document projects that improve safety, improve quality, and/or reduce cost • Understand and apply 5S methodology in work spaces and processes to increase efficiency and safety • Incorporate and standardize best practices into site specifications, standards, and procedures • Assist with system design, construction, startup/commissioning • Coordinate with Environmental team for treatment process changes Location: Austin, TX

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities: • Strong troubleshooting background and issue resolution • High tolerance of change • Strong data and system analysis • Use Excel for data analysis • Strong teamwork and communication skills • Project management skills Education, Training, Certification(s): • BS in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering • 3-4 years Preferred: • 3-4 years Chemical Distribution, Industrial Waste Treatment, and/or Waste System design and operation experience • HPM expertise • Professional Engineering license
