Position Summary

Samsung Austin Semiconductor (SAS) is one of the most advanced semiconductor manufacturing facilities in the United States. Owned by Samsung Electronics Corporation Ltd., SAS is the only semiconductor manufacturing plant located outside of Korea. SAS manufactures logic components for digital services, personal computers, mobile phones, workstations and servers. Since 1997, SAS has been at the forefront of manufacturing technology, enabling the world's digital devices to operate at the highest performance.

The Cleans team is focused on optimizing Samsung’s cutting edge processes and technologies for large scale production. As part of the Cleans team, you will provide support in problem solving opportunities and intense learning, exposure to multiple toolsets and exotic chemistries for new devices, and state of the art wafer surface preparation.

SAS is focused on being the World’s Best Foundry product supplier.

Role and Responsibilities

·  The Cleans/Wet Etch department is looking for a Process Engineer to work in the Gate/Contact (RMG/MOL) group to support SAS operations.
·  Provide 24/7 support for fab operations.
·  Monitor daily SPC charts and investigate trend shifts/abnormal processing events.
·  Develop process improvements to increase yield, increase production and reduce cost by using DOE to find optimum conditions with sufficient process margin.
·  New technology node transfer.
·  Provide guidance to technicians and shift engineers on sustaining activities.
·  Work with Clean equipment owners to troubleshoot issues.
·  Work with other Unit Parts and Process Integration, Yield Analysis and Defect Engineering to solve integrated issues.
·  Work hours and days: M-F, 8am-5pm.

Skills and Qualifications

·  BS degree in Engineering or Physical Sciences.
·  1+ years in Semiconductor High Volume Manufacturing environment preferred.
·  Prior experience with Clean Single Wafer toolsets including DNS/TEL/FSI/SEMES preferred
·  Prior experience in a 300mm mass production environment preferred.
·  Quality first mindset and constant vigilance against quality incidents.
·  Self-motivated to complete projects.
·  Multitask without compromising quality of execution.
·  Summarize data analysis clearly and concisely.
·  Work with team members with different educational and professional backgrounds.
·  Adapt to fast-changing production environment.
·  Learn to use proprietary software for data analysis and wafer handling.
·  MS Office required.
·  JMP, Spotfire, SQL, Klarity preferred.
