Position Title: Consumer & Customer Insights Mobile Intern Date: Summer 2018 Location: 1301 E Lookout Dr Degree Preference: MBA w/a concentration in Marketing, Economics, Statistics, Engineering, or Communication Position Summary and Project Details: The Mobile Customer Insights & Analytics Intern will assist the team by leading a consultative research project to develop a Channel Portfolio Optimzation Strategy to inform the Carrier portfolios for Samsung's Mobile business. Launching new Mobile devices at Samsung is an exciting time! Lots of work goes into bringing new devices to market, including informing our Retail and Carrier teams on which devices they should display and sell at a given time. When a new product is launched and sold-into a retailer, it's important to understand how that new product will impact the overall portfolio including which device lineup will maximize profitability. The Mobile Customer Insights & Analytics Intern will consult with the Consumer & Customer Insights team along with key Samsung stakeholders to develop and manage a research project to inform Mobile Marketing Go-To-Market Strategy for Carriers and Retailers in support of an upcoming iconic product launch. General Duties include but are not limited to: Assisting the Senior Manager and Manager in developing, sharing and presenting Insights to internal teams Conducting primary qualitative and quantitative pre-, post- and in-store research to understand and inform category / channel marketing opportunities Meeting with key stakeholders including Carrier account teams (e.g. Sprint, AT&T, etc) to consult on business needs and deliver Insights to drive growth Meeting with Samsung internal stakeholders to understand ongoing business needs Using decision support, CRM, syndicated data, customer data, etc. in analyses Synthesizing and communicating results of shopper/customer analytics in an impactful way Recommending potential commercial actions based on customized learning and providing consultation to drive actions from the insights By the end of the summer you should be able to: present an overall Samsung Mobile Portfolio Optimization Strategy that will inform how Samsung's Product and Carrier teams sell-in (right mix of products) and merchandise (how to display/communicate in-store) as a result of new iconic product launches.
