Job description

The [Software Asset Management Analyst] will assist in the operations of the Software Asset Management Program at Salesforce. This includes the compliance and data management of the program. Software Asset Management as an IT program provides governance, compliance, guidance and controls around the lifecycle of software used by Salesforce employees and contractors. This Analyst role will focus primarily on the compliance and data side of the program, leveraging existing tools and creating new processes to produce informed decision points for IT and business stakeholders. As a Hyderabad-specific hire, this Analyst role will also serve the EMEA and APAC region as a subject matter expert on the software lifecycle at Salesforce.

Responsibilities:

·  Partner with Senior staff to maintain and enhance our software discovery and optimization tool set.
·  Promote policies and documentation around software titles to be evangelized by SAM and Techforce.
·  Perform routine effective license position audits to assess risk profile of software used in Salesforce and incoming mergers and acquisitions.
·  Consult with business owners on their use of software and adherence to software use policies.
·  Recommend license management strategies to the operations side of SAM (Software License Management, or SLM).
·  Engage vendors as needed in partnership with Sourcing to provide a clear vendor management strategy from IT.
·  Assist in training Techforce in Hyderabad, Dublin, Japan and elsewhere in EMEA/APAC regarding license and request handling.

Minimum Qualifications :

·  A base understanding of the lifecycle of a software asset.
·  Strong data management skills, including spreadsheet-based data and relational databases (SQL).
·  Ability to communicate technical needs in working with remote data systems and integrations through API.
·  Previous experience using Salesforce CRM, similar CRM systems, or ERP systems (admin experience a plus).
·  Ability to build summary reports and visualizations of data sets.
·  Experience using or maintaining cloud-based tools or accounts (software-as-a-service).
·  Experience in conducting audits, creating risk assessments and implementing remediation.
·  Innovative thinker who is positive, proactive and readily embraces change.
·  Ability to understand, adapt and improve current or new business delivery models.
·  Excellent analytical and communication skills (both verbal and written). Able to be a positive evangelist of policies and best practices, even in the face of opposition and with stakeholders up to C-level.

Additional Qualifications :

·  Database administration, programming or automation a plus.
·  Experience using G-Suite apps (Google Drive, Docs, Sheets, Slides, Keep).
·  Experience using Mac and Windows operating systems. A working knowledge of Linux a plus.
·  Intermediate to advanced Excel skills - using formulas and macros, building reports, and compiling CSV data sets for upload to databases.

Educational / Work Experience Requirement

·  Bachelor’s Degree, Finance, Computer Science, or BBA IT
·  Equivalent experience considered:
·  Minimum two (2) years of IT organization experience.
·  Minimum one (1) years of IT Asset Management, Database Admin or Software Delivery experience, with preference of SAM experience.
·  Procurement, buying or contracts experience a plus.
·  Internal applicants in Techforce or Salesforce IT should have at least 1 year experience in current role and meet all other requirements.
