Job Description
The IT Asset Management Specialist is responsible for the daily and long-term strategic management of technology-related hardware within the organization. This includes planning, monitoring and recording of hardware assets to ensure compliance with corporate policies. The individual will assist in forming procurement strategies to optimize technology spend across the organization. They will also govern procedures for tracking company assets to oversee quality control throughout their life cycles.
Duties and Responsibilities:

Process asset related tickets and requests
·
Comply with standard current standard operating procedures
·
Relies on extensive experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals

Ability to coordinate with geographically dispersed teams to achieve results

Consistently seeks to develop self and skills needed to be prepared for future opportunities

Participate in projects as necessary
·
Participate in Hardware audits as necessary
·
Work closely with all areas of the IT department to track existing assets as well as newly acquired assets
·
Associate equipment invoices with hardware purchases
·
Maintain hardware (desktops, laptops, printers, and servers) inventories for all regional locations
·
Maintain disposal and asset tracking spreadsheet for all recycled equipment
·
Ensure retired assets are stored in a secured area, data removed, and marked for destruction or recycle
·
Maintain a notification process for asset purchase to ensure proper tracking
·
Work with local business partners to ensure assets are correctly deployed, disposed and maintained
·
Work with project teams to evaluate and manage equipment and hardware associated with acquisitions
·
Performing a physical inventory of IT assets
·
Collaborates closely with many departments to define asset needs and serves as the interface between the vendor and the business.

Involvement in annual hardware audits for the corporation to ensure compliance
·
Perform periodic asset audits to verify the assets currently in use, the location and owner
Minimum Skills and Competencies:
Required Qualifications:
·
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent
·
Has strong understanding of hardware asset management
·
Strong attention to detail, time management, organizational and interpersonal skills
·
Well organized individual with excellent written and verbal communications skills
·
2/3 years Asset management expierence
Preferred Qualifications:
·
Knowledge of Hardware asset management solutions
·
Certified Hardware Asset Management Professional (CHAMP) certifications
