Salesforce.com is looking for a self motivated person to join its IT Department as an engineer to drive technology of Virtual Desktop Infrastructure (VDI) systems across the environment. The candidate will need experience administering large VDI environments whose responsibilities include but are not limited to: maintaining and enhancing VDI images, endpoint management, maintaining security and patch levels, policy management, software packaging, utility and install scripting. As a VDI Engineer, the individual will be expected to provide resolution to technical issues, handle operational escalations, engineer solutions to help scale the organization, improve operational efficiencies, and complete project deliverables.

Successful candidates will be recognized as technical experts in the VDI discipline and will have the ability to articulate and demonstrate both deep and broad knowledge across multiple areas of information technology. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

Strong interpersonal skills to be able to effectively communicate and negotiate with both technical and non-technical audience

5+ years of IT industry experience

-
3+ years of experience working as an administrator to a VDI infrastructure

-
3+ years of experience in core enterprise applications (Citrix XenApp, XenDesktop)

-
Worked as Tier1 support for VDI end user related issues

-
Knowledgeable of VDI architecture, Monitoring, Trending, and Reporting strategy concepts

-
Experience in Provisioning and maintaining RDSH servers, Client Operating Systems, Persistent and Non Persistent images

Understanding of Active Directory Hierarchy, Sites and Services, DHCP

Knowledge of Access layer for VDI technologies (DNS, WAN, ICA, HDX, PCOIP)

-
Ability to troubleshoot end user access issues (Client, ThinClient, Web)

Ability to script simple procedures

-
Ability to prioritize KLO and caseloads appropriately

Ability to develop Standard Operating Processes common to maintaining VDI infrastructure and end user services

-
4 year college degree or equivalent

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

Strong knowledge of Windows environment

Knowledge on RES Automation & Systrack Monitoring

Strong scripting skill on one of the major platforms i.e. PowerShell, VB, Python, Perl, Unix Shell

Proven track record in simplifying and automating IT operations and process where possible and engineering to scale in an enterprise environment
