Job Details
Salesforce has rapidly evolved from a startup founded by four people in a cramped San Francisco apartment in 1999 to the market leader in Enterprise Cloud Computing. Top talent across the world join Salesforce for its \'change the world\' mentality; the opportunity to excel in a performance-driven, fast-paced, and competitive atmosphere; the chance to be surrounded by peers and leaders that inspire, motivate, and innovate, and a corporate philosophy that incorporates community involvement into its fabric.
What is a blog? For many companies, it's just a place to publish their own points of view and hock products. But at Salesforce, we believe it can be so much more. The blog is a place where our audience can come to learn, be inspired, and share insights and best practices with others. It is a place to share points of view and celebrate success.
We are looking for a passionate, inquisitive, and talented digital marketer to join the Trailblazer Marketing team, home of our corporate blog and social marketing programs. You will be a key member of the blog team, responsible for making sure that the Salesforce Blog is the best it can be every day. You are someone who thrives on meeting deadlines, analyzing performance results, and optimizing digital content to make it work harder. You'll spend your days working with internal and external stakeholders — content contributors, SEO experts, UX designers, marketing analysts, digital and web managers — to make sure that every piece of content speaks to its audience, performs as intended, and represents the best of Salesforce.
This is a role for someone who is passionate about storytelling and building a best-in-class publication platform. This position requires a highly organized, detail-oriented doer who will be the power behind our weekly blog newsletter, blog editorial calendar, content library, and content production processes. Success in this role will be tied to growth in key blog performance KPIs (visitors, subscribers, SEO traffic), as well as the ability to meet deadlines and collaborate effectively with internal and external contributors. This is a great opportunity to work on a highly-visible marketing team at one of the most innovative companies in the world — ranked #1 on the 2018 FORTUNE 100 Best Companies to Work For® list.
Key Responsibilities:
· Manage the day-to-day execution of the blog, including finalizing and publishing posts, recommending story placements, and optimizing CTAs.
· Ownership of the corporate editorial calendar, content library, and blog production workflows, administered within our content management platform, Kapost. Responsible for liaising with stakeholders to ensure production deadlines are met.
· Analyze blog performance using Omniture and other tools. Provide weekly and monthly performance reports; monitor progress against annual performance goals and flag optimization opportunities.
· Act as a passionate guardian of content quality and brand image, voice, and tone for each post that is published on the Salesforce Blog.
· Ensure blog editorial, brand, and publishing guidelines are kept up-to-date.
· Contribute to team content marketing initiatives, including: writing/editing stories, coordinating blog series and collections, participating in Dreamforce, and collaborating on social campaigns.
Job Requirements:
· 3+ years experience working at a publication or on a digital or content marketing team at a B2B or B2C company
· Working knowledge of Adobe Experience Manager and other web publishing platforms. Experience with Kapost, Omniture, and Salesforce Marketing Cloud a plus
· Strong organizational, program management, proof-reading, and writing/editing skills
· Working knowledge of online marketing metrics
· Understanding of how to design content journeys that move buyers through the marketing funnel, from awareness through to purchase. SEO, CTA, and KPI are three of your favorite acronyms
· Detail-obsessed, with an eagle eye for ensuring that brand messaging and content quality standards are met (please # your favorite marketing blogs on your resume)
· Strong interpersonal skills; demonstrated ability to work with cross-departmental teams and effectively work on projects that involve all levels of management
· Possess a compulsive habit of meeting deadlines
· Knowledge of best practices in SEO/SEM
· Social media savvy; understanding of the different platforms and the audiences of each channel
· Excellent presentation skills - both in building (PPT, Keynote, Google Slides) and presenting
· Willingness to get the job done, with a positive outlook and sense of humor
· Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Journalism, PR, Marketing, or a related field
