Job description
Within Performance Plastics R&D team, as a VIE Research Engineer Optics you would:
Collaborate closely with the Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics plants (several sites in the US) in order to understand their needs for optical detection Support and lead the Saint-Gobain Performance Plastics plants in the choice of optical systems for product and process monitoring Conduct feasibility trials with the suppliers to identify the best one Communicate and present key results in reviews Write technical reports to summarize key learnings Participate in group activities, i.e., lab safety, 5S, SMAT and center-wide activities

Desired profile
Master degree with 1 or 2 years of experience, or PhD student in training Strong background either in optics, engineering mechanics, instrumentation or related field Interested in industrial environment and willingness to learn the different aspects of R&D and industrialization/manufacturing Demonstrated team collaboration capabilities, self-sufficient and results-orientated mindset and problem-solving skills The candidate must be open to travel within the US and possess a driver's license Please be aware that the VIE is a French government program open to citizens of the European Economic Area under 28 years of age PLEASE APPLY IN ENGLISH
