Job description

The Warehouse Assistant Manager is responsible for effectively and efficiently managing warehousing activities in support of production, operations, and company objectives in cost, delivery, and quality.

This position ensures that inventory of significant value is accurately managed, stored, and maintained to the highest standards. The role leads the warehouse team to achieve safety, quality, and performance targets, while driving process improvement, regulatory compliance, and continuous development of warehouse operations.

·  Warehouse Operations Management

• Supervise daily warehouse operations to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and safety.

• Develop and maintain standard operating procedures for all warehouse activities.

• Plan and schedule work to optimize resource utilization and meet operational demand.

• Implement effective warehouse layouts, barcoding systems, and IT tools to improve process flow.

• Monitor inbound and outbound logistics, including receiving, storage, picking, packing, and dispatch.

• Manage 3PL activities and ensure service levels meet business needs.

• Ensure compliance with dangerous goods handling and storage regulations.

• Maintain full product traceability and compliance with aviation quality standards.

·  Inventory and Stock Control

• Maintain accurate inventory through timely ERP updates, cycle counting, and stock takes.

• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies, slow-moving or obsolete stock, and quarantined items.

• Ensure proper segregation and storage of parts, including shelf-life monitoring and expiry control.

• Analyze inventory trends and report on stock levels, turnover, and shortages.

• Manage scrap, quarantine, and obsolete inventory in accordance with company policy.

·  Staff Leadership and Development

• Lead, coach, and develop warehouse staff to ensure competency and performance standards.

• Identify and implement training programs; monitor progress using a qualification matrix.

• Promote teamwork, accountability, and a safety

Candidate skills & requirements

• Certificate level or higher in Supply Chain Management or related field.

• Minimum 3 years' experience in logistics or warehousing operations.

• Proven experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint).

• Previous aviation industry experience (advantageous).

• Experience in 5S+1, Lean Manufacturing, and continuous improvement methodologies.

• Strong leadership, organization, and communication skills.

• Good understanding of airworthiness and aviation quality requirements.
