Job description
RESPONSIBILITIES: (Identify main responsibilities of the position)
Aerodynamics:
You will get insight in the overall process of setting up, performing and post-processing of Computational Fluid Dynamic (CFD) simulations in the scope of helicopter aerodynamics. You will familiarize with the tool, application and testing of its functionalities and different workflows, perform CFD simulations and postprocess the respective results.
Flight Mechanics:
·
Carry out helicopter trim and maneuver simulations with flight mechanical AH in-house tools
·
Support of flight physical model developments
·
Building and adaptation of flight mechanical helicopter simulation models
·
Setting up, adapting, performing and evaluating aerodynamic-flight-mechanic coupled simulations
Vibrations Analysis:
·
Equipment development (laboratory or on-helicopter testing, review and analysis of supplier documents, equipment (re-)qualification, challenge and follow up of the supplier)
·
Equipment installation certification (on-helicopter testing on ground and/or during flight, review and analysis of test data, exchange with airworthiness department)
·
Writing of technical documents (test specifications, substantiation reports and certification documentation)
But what else? (advantages, specificities, etc.)
MAIN ACTIVITIES:
Aerodynamics & Flight Mechanics:
• Perform aerodynamic and numerical simulations for rotorcraft applications
• Conduct flight mechanics calculations and stability analyses
• Analyse wind tunnel and flight test data to validate simulation models
• Generate high-quality meshes for various helicopter components, including evaluation and application of different mesh generation tools and workflows
• Develop and maintain scripts in Python to support simulation, data processing, and automation tasks
• Create or modify 3D models of aircraft components to support simulation activities
• Effectively communicate post-processed results through internal and external presentations, as well as detailed technical documentation
Vibration Analysis:
• Analysis of vibrations of helicopter equipment/installations
• Review and analyse of AHD/supplier documents
• Analysing and writing of technical documents (e.g. FTS, TN, CRS)
• Troubleshoot and propose solutions for modifications
• Test of the equipment (ground and flight test organization)
• Integration, qualification and certification of the equipment
• Support to the clients (indirectly via others departments)
• Project Management
The VIE program enables French companies to send entry level candidates between 18 and 28 years old on an assignment abroad. This program is applicable only for French and European Economic candidates, for a 12 to 24 months mission.
Candidate skills & requirements
REQUIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:
• Master's degree (M.Sc. or Diploma) in Aerospace Engineering or a related field
• Strong knowledge of fluid dynamics, flight mechanics & aeronautic environment
• Experience with programming, particularly in Python is a plus
• Proficiency in working within a Linux/bash environment
• Experience with 3D design tools (CATIA is a plus)
• Hands-on experience in mesh generation for computational fluid dynamics (CFD), with knowledge of tools such as ANSYS ICEM considered an advantage
• Postprocessing the results in Tecplot or equivalent
• Fluent in English; proficiency in German is a plus
• Mobility (Germany-Donauwörth)
Eligibility for the V.I.E. program generally requires that applicants should not have paid taxes or resided in the country for more than approximately six months within the period immediately preceding their V.I.E. application or start date. The program is intended for those seeking new international experience.
