Job Description
The UK Engineering Manager's role is to organise and coordinate the engineering and laboratory team and projects of SEC UK according to the Company's development strategy and market needs.
To ensure that the Company's Development Projects are being well managed and meet all of the required objectives
To support business development by technical expertise and customer lobbying
To ensure close collaboration and technical exchange with the SEC division's managers (France, US and Canada) and their Engineering teams
To support production and purchasing projects to improve product performances
To develop new concepts and new products according to BU Technology Road Map
To ensure connection and relationship within the Group and promote SEC division knowhow
To manage the Company's New Product Introduction Process
To define the budget, ressources and their allocation through the projects according to the strategy and market needs.
To ensure the competencies progress of the team and the associated training plan
To ensure the deployment and application of the engineering methods and processes in line with the other SEC engineering departments.
To support the R&T activities leaded by the Eu R&T manager and the development of the internal and external partnerships (Laboratory, university…), including funded projects.
To ensure the KPI following up and reporting to the top management.

Summary of responsibilities:

Management of the Engineering department and their expertise level increase

Responsible of the team competencies development
·
Responsible of the application and respect of the Development process, including APQP and annual local process review, incollaboration with other SEC technical managers to ensure the transverse standardisation
·
Responsible of the SEC/SEP KPI achievement
·
Budget construction (including investments), following up and reporting to SEC top management
·
Responsible of the projects development and associated key deliverables:
·
Respect of the milestones and lead time
·
Respect of the budget
·
Respect of the quality level
·
Responsible of the team performances in terms of cost, quality and time of project delivery (Milestones adherence)
·
Ensure the good partnerships with internal and external customers
·
Technical support to other company departments (R&T, Purchase, sales, manufacturing, ...)
Job Requirements
Professional skills
Technical:
• Team activity. Research support
• Process application and KPI following up
• Reporting project progress
• Internal and customer presentations
• Technical and Scientific survey
• Good knowledges in mecahnical, treatments, and design rules
Financial:
• Research of funded projects (support to Eu R&T manager)
• Support of budget definition
• Budget allocation to the projects, investements, following up and reporting
• RFQ's involvment by creating technical documentation (CM, STE, drawing, …) and technical presentation
Management skills
• Is able to manage a multi-functional team with different level of knowledge.
• Is able to define smart objectives to reach the target of the department,
• follow and report it to the top management.
• Ability to motivate and challenge the team to reach the objectives
• Animation of the Engineering and lab department
• Participate fully in the Company's HSE programmes and ensure that every member of the team adheres to the Company's HSE rules and procedures
