In the role of Software Configuration Specialist I, you'll play a pivotal part on our IT/IS team. The Software Configuration Specialist participates in choosing software components for use in business tools and solutions across Safran Cabin (software packages, databases, specific developments, etc.) Analyzes, configures, and creates prototypes of new software package components, and makes changes as necessary to components, in compliance with standards and procedures. This role is guided on request from the Applications Manager, or an IT/IS Project Manager, based on functional specifications, ensuring that IS and enterprise architecture plans set out are adhered to. This role provides assistance and expertise on software packages and connected modelling processes.
This position contributes to our vision by:
• Analysis & Investigation
o Conducts a functional analysis of needs, defines the functional and technical IS architecture for applications
o Uses existing software and objects from the application portfolio and systems map when possible
o Creates prototypes in coordination with the functional expert
o Accounts for the gap between user needs, and software package standards
• Development
o Adapts, configures, assemble and integrates software package components
o Drafts corresponding documentation.
o Participates in creating user guides.
• Qualification & Testing
o Configures test cases for integration and unit tests
o Tests internal software developments, and products supplied by software developers
o Can carry out pre-operating tests and acceptance procedures
o Identifies and corrects malfunctions
• Maintenance
o Carries out ongoing and corrective maintenance with tools and resources from software developers

The expected salary range for this position is between $72,280 - $80,310 USD. Actual compensation will be determined based on experience, education, and other factors permitted by law.

Education:
• Bachelor's (BA or BS.) degree or an equivalent degree from a college or technical school in Computer Science, Information Science, Engineering, or Business Administration, plus 1-3 years' experience; or 5 years related experience managing software configuration in product development or manufacturing organization; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
• Strong knowledge and experience in respective application, business systems, and processes
• Functional and operational understanding of business processes and sector of activity
• Demonstrated skills in developing and supporting applications, as well as the related business case for the use of that technology.
• Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills.
Computer Skills:
• Advanced knowledge of respective application(s)
• Basic knowledge Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
• Basic knowledge of computer and network systems
Other Skills:
• Effective oral and written communications skills
• Demonstrated ability to handle multiple projects and assignments with attention to detail
• Problem solving, well organized, detailed oriented and accurate.
