The Senior Manufacturing Engineer acts as the technical lead for a defined manufacturing domain or process, providing expert support, coaching and escalation for Manufacturing Engineers and Operations teams
You'll specialise in the design, development and implementation of logistics, packaging, preservation and material handling solution to optimise quality and delivery of the production facility.
The role is responsible for leading the design, implementation, optimisation and continuous improvement of manufacturing processes- ensuring safety, efficiency, quality, cost‑effectiveness and compliance with regulatory and industrial standards.
Key responsibilities:
- Senior technical authority for all logistics, packaging, handling and preservation processes.
- Lead, design and approve product and process documentation, specifications and engineered equipment designs.
- Own site‑wide strategy for material flow, line‑side presentation, storage, handling equipment, and product preservation.
- Oversee lifecycle of all handling equipment, lifting aids and engineered logistics solutions.
- Champion problem‑solving maturity across the site, coaching teams in 8D, 5‑Why and RCA methods.
- Senior approver for lifting aid design changes, packaging specifications, equipment modifications and flow alterations.
- Represent the site as SME for packing & handling during audits and customer visits.
- Define continuous improvement strategy for logistics, packaging, handling and factory-equipment systems.
Desired profile
What You'll Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical, manufacturing, or other related engineering field
- Demonstrable experience in manufacturing engineering, ideally in a regulated industry
- Proficiency in CAD, CAM, and process simulation tools
- Strong knowledge of Lean Manufacturing & Six Sigma methodologies
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings
- Experience deploying APQP standards and tools
- Experience mentoring or developing engineers
