Primarily responsible for the quality engineering functions to maintain the Quality Management System (QMS) and support manufacturing. The successful candidate will work directly with production, engineering, and quality personnel to fully understand the product and process requirements and perform continuous improvement activities. This includes evaluating production practices and test data, analyzing causes of defect and failures, facilitating countermeasures across all programs, tracking and communicating results to the organization, and driving for success.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
• Understands and promotes the Quality Management System.
• Evaluates and disposition of Nonconforming Material Reports (NCs) and Failure Reports, consulting with Engineering for concurrence on repair and/or use as is dispositions
• Analyze failure, corrective and preventative action to address internal and external Customer Complaints
• Determine root cause analysis and implementation of corrective actions for process related concerns and ensures documentation is updated based on corrective action (i.e. CMM's, folding procedures, work instructions, ATP's, etc.).
• Take action to prevent the problem from re-occurring in similar products and/or processes
• Interprets drawings and understanding product conformity
• Represents the Quality Department, where required, on various functional teams; including, Material Review Board, Warranty Board, etc.
• Implementation of continual improvement activities to enhance the Quality System, such as 5S, Kaizen Lean Methods, etc.
• Evaluates, analyses and report monthly KPIs on manufacturing quality performance and target opportunities for improvement (ie. Monthly Quality Barometer).
• Monitor manufacturing quality defects and performs the analysis to determine process capability and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Initiate quality alert feedback from customer concerns and request containment activities.
• Adheres to safe work practices and contributes to the evolution of the health, safety, and environmental program and culture.
• Regular, predictable attendance is required;

Complementary Description
• Manages SPC data collection and performs the analysis to determine process capability and identify opportunities for improvement.
• Prepares and maintains the inspection documentation (ATP, checklists, etc.), as required.
• Interface with Engineering and Production to ensure transfer to production of new products is in accordance with approved data.
• Support the Quality Inspectors to ensure that products and processes comply with the relevant requirements of the Quality Management System.
• Provide feedback to management on overall product performance, with an eye toward lessons learned for product design improvement.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills - Advanced
• Compiling information from internal databases, usage of Microsoft Office applications and Minitab for data analysis and interpretation - Advanced
• Problem solving using standard quality tools (DOE, SPC, probability) and ability to train others - Expert
• Working knowledge of Quality tools including cause-and-effect diagrams, check sheets, control charts, histograms, Pareto charts, scatter diagrams, Affinity Diagrams, Tree Diagrams, Prioritization Matricides, Matrix Diagrams and Process Decision Program Charts (PDPC), AS9100, Lean Manufacturing. - Advanced
• SPC data collection, analysis and software knowledge - Advanced
• Fluent in English - Advanced
• Bilingual English/Spanish helpful - Basic
• Ability to work in a cross-functional/international team environment – Advanced
Education and/or Experience:
• Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 3+ years of experience in project management and quality methods.
Certificates, Licenses, Registrations
• Certified Auditor, Six Sigma Green Belt
