Job Description
The QMS Engineer is responsible for maintaining and improving the company's Quality Management System in accordance with AS9100, ISO 9001, customer, and regulatory requirements. This role ensures consistent application of quality policies, supports compliance efforts, and drives continual improvement across the organization.
Summary of Duties:
Maintain and continuously improve the AS9100-compliant QMS, including procedures, work instructions, records, and documentation controls.
Coordinate and lead internal audits, track findings, and ensure timely implementation of corrective actions.
Support external audits (customer, certification bodies, and regulatory agencies) and manage audit logistics, documentation, and follow-up.
Monitor and analyze QMS performance metrics to identify opportunities for improvement and ensure system effectiveness.
Facilitate Corrective and Preventive Action (CAPA) processes and lead root cause analysis efforts using tools such as 8D, 5-Why, and Fishbone.
Manage document control processes, ensuring revision control and accessibility of controlled documents and records.
Provide training and guidance to staff on QMS requirements, updates, and best practices.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure procedures and quality controls are integrated effectively into business operations.
Assist in risk management activities, including PFMEA reviews and quality planning.
Ensure alignment of the QMS with customer-specific requirements and contractual obligations.

Qualifications:
Education: Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality, or a related technical field.
Experience: 3+ years of experience working with AS9100/ISO 9001 QMS in aerospace or other regulated manufacturing environments.
Computer Skill: Familiar with Windows Operating System®.
Other Skills:
Demonstrated knowledge of internal auditing, process documentation, and compliance standards, Certified Lead Auditor preferred.
Strong understanding of quality tools such as 8D, CAPA, risk-based thinking, and process mapping.
Excellent organization, documentation, and communication skills.
