We are looking for passionate individuals to join our team as a Mechanical Certification Engineer at our Cwmbran, South Wales site.
As a Mechanical Certification Engineer, you will be part of a team responsible for delivering the mechanical and structural analysis, and certification activities required to ensure aircraft cabin interior products meet stringent aviation safety and regulatory standards. Working within a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will support the certification of world-class aircraft seating and cabin products, collaborating with leading aircraft manufacturers including Airbus and Boeing, as well as aviation authorities such as EASA and FAA.
This is an exciting opportunity to influence product development from concept through certification, working on cutting-edge aerospace programmes in a highly regulated and technical environment.
Your Role
*Mechanical and structural certification activities for aircraft cabin interior products.
*Conduct structural assessments and analysis to demonstrate compliance with aerospace regulations.
*Review, validate and approve FEA and stress analysis results.
*Develop certification strategies, test plans and compliance documentation.
*Plan, organise and witness static, dynamic, cyclic, abuse and environmental testing.
*Prepare certification packages for submission to EASA, FAA and aircraft OEMs.
*Support design teams by developing your expert guidance on certification requirements throughout product development.
*Interface with customers, airlines, aircraft manufacturers and regulatory authorities to achieve timely approvals.
Desired profile
What You'll Bring
Essential:
*Degree qualified in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering or a related discipline.
*Understanding of structural analysis methodologies and finite element analysis (FEA).
*Experience producing technical reports or compliance documentation and certification data packages.
*Ability to review engineering drawings and assess design compliance.
*Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
*Effective communication skills with the ability to engage with customers, regulators and cross-functional engineering teams.
*Ability to manage multiple certification activities and deliver against programme schedules.
Desirable:
*Previous aerospace cabin interiors, seating, monuments or aircraft structures experience.
*Experience in mechanical certification, structural analysis, airworthiness, stress engineering or compliance engineering within a regulated industry.
*Exposure to certification testing, including static, dynamic, cyclic and environmental testing.
*Understanding of interface load assessments and airframe integration requirements.
*Knowledge of aviation certification regulations, particularly FAA and EASA requirements.
