Job Description
Summary:
As a member of the Supply Chain team, the Logistics Coordinator is responsible for the coordination of scheduling shipments, creation of shipping documents, maintenance of shipping records to facilitate tracking, and proactive daily/weekly status reporting.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Coordinate scheduling of shipments with the freight forwarders and maintain quotes for current Safran Test Cells shipping lanes
• Maintain shipping records to facilitate tracking
• Create and collect shipping documentation required by country of entry
• Provide shipping details/vessel schedule to the project manager, site manager, and customer as requested
• Ensure proper communication is provided to site managers/supervisors
• Maintain customer service to internal, external, and international customers
• Responsible for the shipping of Safran Test Cells products as required to and from vendors and customers while ensuring compliance with each countries laws and regulations allowing Safran Test Cells to minimize the tariff and foreign currency exposure, including export, import, and ITAR compliance.
• Work with the Export Control Officer to ensure proper ECCN designations are used
Other Duties and Responsibilities:
• Monitor product/project manufacturing plans by providing bi-monthly reporting showing project/project Target/Achieved Payment Milestones; FAT Milestones and Shipping date Milestones, for each active Safran Test Cells Project
• Prepare logistic plans to support all relevant shipping operations within the scope of each project
• Facilitate resolution of Custom clearance issues
• Review invoices and respond to inquiries overseas in a clear, concise and timely manner
• Administer and updated shipping documents that need revision for customs clearance
• Research documentation and shipping requirements early in the project stage so equipment can begin moving when complete
• Coordinate with the Export Control Officer on shipments that require ITAR or EAR licenses to ensure all regulations are met
• Coordinate with outside craters for larger equipment when needed
• Actively participate in a continuous improvement culture providing recommendations and implementing enhancements to current methods and procedures.
• Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
Education/Experience:
• Associates Degree preferred
• 2 or more years of specific experience in executing international logistics related responsibilities required
• Experience executing International logistics related responsibilities, managing freight quotes and/or handling import and export documentation preferred
Qualifications:
• Must be able to type at least 40 words per minute with accuracy.
• Demonstrated ability to analyze shipping and equipment quotes.
• Ability to analyze costs related to manufacturing, labor and materials
• Demonstrated working knowledge of ITAR and EAR requirements
• High-level understanding and experience in Microsoft products and applications, including but not limited to MS Dynamics, Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
• Ability to read and interpret engineering Bill of Materials
• Strong communication skills both verbal and written with a proven ability to be assertive yet approachable delivering a positive customer service experience.
• Ability to think critically about both client's needs and internal solutions
• Highly motivated, able to work independently, and to schedule requirements
• Demonstrate accuracy and thoroughness; actively seeks opportunities to improve and promote quality; asks questions, monitors own work to ensure quality is met, and drives results.
Specificity of the job
• Able and willing to travel up to 20% of the time both domestically and internationally, as required
