Job description
Summary of Job Purpose:
The human resources intern will develop HR Coordinator/Generalist skills and assist the Safran Electronics & Defense, Avionics USA, LLC human resource department with a wide range of projects related to HR compliance, recruiting, employee benefits, leave management, communication, filing and personnel file management.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Help support the HR team with proper maintenance of employee and human resources files
o Review new and existing employee document files for completeness
o Conduct audits of HR processes/files to ensure proper paperwork is included
- Assist employees with software system inquiries in the timekeeping system and HRMS system
- Assist the HR team with the recruitment process for the Safran Electronics & Defense, Avionics USA, LLC Costa Mesa site
- Help enter in training records
- Prepare new hire orientation packets and paperwork
- General support to the HR and management team
- Assist the HR team with preparation and planning of engagement events

Requirements
Education / Experience:
- Student currently enrolled in a 4-year business, liberal arts, human resources, communications, psychology or related field from an accredited institution
- At least 2 years of completed college coursework
- Minimum 3.0 GPA required
- This position requires use of information or access to hardware which is subject to the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR). All applicants must be U.S. persons within the meaning of ITAR. ITAR defines a U.S. person as a U.S. Citizen, U.S. Permanent Resident (i.e. 'Green Card Holder'), Political Asylee, or Refugee
- Legally authorized to work in the US without company sponsorship
- External candidates to Safran, relocation is not provided for this opportunity. Only candidates living within a 50 mile radius will be considered.

- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Strong interpersonal skills with ability to maintain confidentiality, conduct business in ethical manner, present a credible image and accept and follow direction
- Ability to prioritize tasks and handle numerous assignments simultaneously
- Must possess and emanate a positive team oriented attitude
Preferred Qualifications
- Fluent in Spanish
- Experience in ADP
- Experience in SAP
Physical Requirements :
- While performing the duties of this Job, the employee is regularly required to sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel and talk or hear. The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk.
