Job description
As the Health, Safety, Environment (HSE) & Facility Manager, you will be the driving force behind creating a safe, compliant, and efficient workplace. Reporting directly to the HR Manager, you will lead the development and implementation of HSE policies, ensure regulatory compliance, and manage all aspects of facility operations.
Your role will include:
HSE Leadership: Define, implement, and promote the company's HSE policy in line with legal requirements and Safran Group standards. Maintain and continuously improve HSE management systems (ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
Risk Management: Identify, assess, and mitigate occupational risks. Conduct workplace inspections, incident investigations, and implement corrective actions.
Compliance & Audits: Ensure adherence to national and international regulations. Prepare for and lead internal/external audits and certification processes.
Training & Engagement: Deliver HSE training programs, foster employee engagement, and promote a proactive safety culture.
Facilities Management: Oversee facility planning, maintenance, and security. Manage contractors, budgets, and ensure timely repairs and improvements. Handle lease negotiations and coordinate site-level projects including refurbishments and expansions.
Sustainability: Monitor and implement energy-saving initiatives and reduce environmental impact.
This is a hands-on role requiring flexibility, strong leadership, and the ability to manage multiple priorities. You will play a key part in safeguarding our employees, supporting business objectives, and ensuring operational excellence.

Candidate skills & requirements
Education & Experience:
Preferred: Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related field.
Demonstrable experience in HSE and facility management or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Proven stakeholder and project management experience.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in risk analysis tools (FMEA, fault tree analysis).
Strong knowledge of HSE standards and management systems (ISO 14001, ISO 45001).
Statistical analysis and HSE reporting.
Crisis management and emergency planning.
Advanced Microsoft Office skills.
Core Competencies:
Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
Strong analytical and decision-making abilities.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and complex projects.
Knowledge of construction and building systems maintenance.
Ability to interface effectively with contractors and vendors.
Flexible approach to working hours when required.
Preferred (Not Essential):
Experience in aerospace or manufacturing environments.
Large-scale facility transformation project experience.
Familiarity with UK environmental regulations and compliance best practices.
