Safran Aerosystems' Wall Township, New Jersey facility is home to the North American headquarters of our Evacuation Systems Business Unit (SEV). Here, you will help design, manufacture, maintain, and support life-saving aircraft evacuation systems, including emergency slides, life rafts, and flotation devices.

The Drafting Supervisor will oversee the company's Drafting department. The position creates detail drawings (CAD) of parts or routine sub-assemblies incorporating all the necessary information on dimensions, materials, specification, notes, which will be required to produce the part. Creates and revises pattern definition per engineering inputs required to produce the part. Monitors the timeliness and accuracy of changes through the workflow process.
Supervises Drafting personnel
Manages/assigns work to all drafters using Smarteam
Follows up with drafters when changes have not been worked on in a timely manner
Responsible for implementing personnel procedures
Develops and maintains methods of standards, as they relate to the creation and storage of drawings/documents
Proposes/recommends upgrades to Drafting hardware and software to ensure continued technical evolution
Analyze and break down preliminary and general assembly design drawings which have been prepared by design engineer and design drafter
Maintains Section 7 (Drafting) for the Engineering Department Manual (EDM)
Creates detail drawings (CAD) of various parts and sub-assemblies involved in showing dimensions, materials, specifications, assembly, and inspection notes
Creates assembly drawings (CAD) showing callout of detail and standard parts, all pertinent data required for the fabrication of these parts
Incorporates ECNs per standard Air Cruisers drafting procedure and practices
Checks with Manufacturing Engineering to obtain information on manufacturing processes, tooling, and the availability of standard tooling
Signs off as the checker on design changes (ECN's) for drawings, including specifications, source drawings, and patterns
Researches and interacts with Engineering and Manufacturing in support of new drawings and changes to existing drawings
Adheres to safe work practices
