Job Description

In the UK, Safran Seats specialises solely in the First Class and Business Class seating markets for wide body aircraft, with industrial and engineering teams in Cwmbran and Newport, Wales and Brackley, England.
Key Responsibilities & Duties:
• Create and maintain project LOPA structure, update suite, shell and furniture levels with latest design data from design office.
• Create and maintain Space Allocation Models (maturity models) as per DMU methodology.
• Create Test BOMs for certification team as required for project milestones.
• Ensure system requirements are adhered to and are validated in the maturity models.
• Create Definition Control Model to define interfaces of mechanical and electrical design with composite design.
• Co-ordinate and communicate effectively with all teams involved in project to ensure consistency of the design content among different products: Master Geometry, LOPA, and kinematics.
• Maintain clean and clash-free design data throughout project life.
• Analyse product structures to ensure all the links are correct.
• Prepare and check data submissions to Airbus, Boeing and other third party integrators.
• Prepare, understand and generate DMU problem reports to ensure team philosophies are maintained. Track & measure problems.
• Ensure DMU tracker is fully updated with latest design data maturity.
• Check, report & validate 3D model quality, including CATDUA, Q-checker, naming & numbering.
• Prepare data to facilitate DMU reviews.
• Contribute to the development of the Best Practice guidelines and support on-going continuous improvement initiatives to increase team efficiency through methods, process and other lean improvements.
• Ensure compliance with BMS documents, ECRs, Permits, Concessions, etc.

Job Requirements
Qualified to a minimum of a degree level. Alternatively a HNC / HND or an equivalent qualification with experience in providing services and support within an engineering function. Essential
A proficient user of Catia V5 / Smarteam. Essential
Have worked within the Aerospace / Automotive domains. Desirable
Experience of working in mechanical design team. Desirable
Experience of working with Boeing and Airbus specifications. Desirable
A working knowledge of the engineering release and approval processes Essential
