SUMMARY:

The Dangerous Goods Supervisor is responsible for ensuring that customer orders requiring shipment of Dangerous Goods are accurately handled, separated, classified, documented, labeled and shipped. The Dangerous Goods Supervisor is also responsible for ensuring that all Dangerous Goods guidelines and regulations are followed pertaining to storage, handling and scrapping of Dangerous Goods Materials.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Must have an “active” (not an expired or a non-transferable) 49 CFR and IATA regulations certificate

·  • Train, evaluate, and supervise employees to ensure goals and that quality standards are met

·  • Respond accordingly to inquiries and/or complaints from employees, customers, and vendors to promote positive relationships.

·  • Maintain documentation in accordance with company policies and procedures (i.e., attendance and performance records)

·  • Accurately and safely compiles and ships Dangerous Goods consignments per 49 CFR and IATA regulations

·  • Inspect DG shipments via company check lists for compliance to the regulations made by DG Shippers other than your self

·  • Stays abreast of applicable local, state, and federal Hazardous Materials/Dangerous Goods regulations and legislation. Analyzes potential impact on Safran Aerosystems business processes. Advises senior leadership and advocates appropriate actions
·  • Maintains current training certificates for both Air (IATA) and DOT (Ground) Dangerous Goods shipping
·  • Key decision maker in authorization to ship Dangerous Goods, impacting ability to maintain relationships with carriers

·  • Responsible for ensuring that outgoing shipments are adequately packaged and meet Safran Aerosystems quality requirements per ATA 300 Spec

·  • Comply with Electro Static Discharge (ESD) requirements when handling ESD material

·  • Complete Shippers Letters of Instruction

·  • Works closely with the Logistics Management team, Quality Management team and SAU leadership to ensure compliance in all area's related to Dangerous Goods.

·  • File Automated Export System (AES) on line customs applications

·  • Assure that Bureau of Industry and Security (BIS) compliance via completion of Shippers Export Declarations (US Government Form 7525-V or equivalent) using defined ECCN codes

·  • Ability to Train others how to Accurately complete FedEx/ UPS / DHL shipping documents using carrier defined programs (I.E. UPS Worldship)

·  • Detailed understanding of Site Hawk Safety Data Sheet repository

·  • Provide support as needed for AOG calls 24/7/265

·  • Push Orders to Status 44 in order for timely picking, packing and shipping of DG Orders to customers on time.

·  • Instill Discipline into others about the importance of adherence to all DG Area protocols and safety measures

·  • Monitor and control inventory to ensure Aerosystems Services targets are met

·  • Ensure that all SLA or KPI's in their assigned area of responsibility are achieved, performing RCCA when below target.

·  • Works closely with Safran Aerosystems Services Quality Manager to ensure that Lean and AS9120 processes and principles are applied during the day to day operation.

·  • Ensures that all processes in the assigned area of responsibility are regularly audited and quality checks are in place. RCCA should be applied when quality escapes or process deviations are present.

·  • Ensures a QRQC/SQCDP environment is in place for their area of responsibility.

·  • Provides back-up to other Warehouse Manager and Assistant Warehouse Manager

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS
a) Certifications, Knowledge and skills

·  • Expert in 49 CFR and IATA regulations
·  • IATA Dangerous Goods By Air certified with 5 years of recent DG shipping experience
·  • 49 CFR, US DOT DG By Road certified with 5 years of recent DG shipping experience
·  • Working knowledge of carrier defined shipping programs (UPS – Worldship, FedEx Ship Manager…)
·  • Automated Export System (AES) customs – 2 hour AESDirect Online Training completed
·  • DGM Dangerous Goods processing software trained
·  • Successfully attend and become internally certified in EAR/ITAR Export Control

·  • 2-5 years of Supervisory experience
·  • 5-7 years of related work experience in a manufacturing or distribution environment.

·  • Skills in providing verbal and written feedback, including performance evaluations
·  • Ability to maintain positive relationships throughout the organization .
