I am recruiting for a large highly reputable organisation based in Telford. This is an exciting role with a lot of benefits and career progression.
I am looking for a very keen individual with an ambition to progress within healthcare for a full time position starting on a salary between £18,254 - £20,696.
What I am looking for:
- Ideally, some understanding of working as a support worker with children and young people with multiple complex needs including autism, learning difficulties, deep-routed trauma, child sexual exploitation, sexually harmful behaviour and school refusal.
- Good written and verbal communication skills
- Hold or be willing to work towards an NVQ3/Level 3 in Children and Young People's Workforce or equivalent
- Full driving licence and own transport
Responsibilities Include:
• Contribute to the effective implementation of individual programmes by supporting learning, independence and experiences.
• Manage the well being and behaviour’s ensuring significant behavioural or physical occurrences are addressed and managed accordingly
• Assisting with the completion of care plans, risk assessments, incident reports and daily reports
• Supporting clients with morning and evening routines
• Supporting clients with challenging behaviour and adopting de-escaltion techniques
• Supporting client's with in house and external activities
• Handling of petty cash and supporting client s to manage personal budgets
• Promote strong communication with both clients and staff team to ensure handover are accurate and factual
• Maintain professional relationships with clients, family and external healthcare professionals
• Adhering to company policies and procedures
Person Specification:
• Due to the location of the business and lack of public transport a full driving licence and own transport is essential
• A caring, empathetic and sympathetic nature who enjoys supporting others
• A desire to develop within the business
• Flexible to work unsociable hours on a rota basis including evenings and weekends
• All applicants will be subject to an enhanced DBS check and satisfactory referencing
We accept any one of the qualifications Below:
- NVQ Care Level 3
- NVQ Caring for Children and Young People Level 3
- Level 3 NVQ in Health and Social Care-Children and Young People
- Level 3 Diploma for the Children and Young People’s Workforce: Social Care Pathway
- Level 3 Diploma for Residential Childcare (England)
- Level 3 Diploma in Health and Social Care (Children and Young People) for Wales and NI.
