Job description

It is Sacco Mann's pleasure to be working with this established yet modern Private Practice as they seek to appoint a Trainee Patent Attorney to join their growing Chemistry Group. To be considered for this opening you should have a minimum of a first or 2:1 in Chemistry a PhD would be advantageous but is not a prerequisite.
The appointed candidate will be given considerable training to enable them to develop the skills needed to progress in the profession and to pass both the UK and European patent exams.
The role will involve working directly with a supportive partner on a varied patent-related workload, including drafting new patent applications, corresponding with clients and patent offices, opposing patents and providing advice to clients.
Whilst IP is experience is not essential, you should consider yourself to have the following attributes:
Strong communication skills
Highly self motivated
Keen eye for detail
An analytical mind
A commercial approach and the ability to build internal and external relationships
A genuine interest in science and the law
