Job description

My client is a well established Legal 500 law firm with a number of offices up North and in London who are currently experiencing growth in their Dispute Resolution department. Due to this growth they are now seeking to appoint an Employment and Discrimination Solicitor who has extensive experience within Employment Law. This is a brilliant opportunity for a Employment Law candidate who is looking to specialise and deal with Discrimination matters. The successful candidate will undertake the following duties; you will advise and assist clients with legal problems relating to all areas of Employment, be a representative in tribunal as well as dealing with some Civil Litigation work. This is a fantastic opportunity someone who is a qualified solicitor and has 0-4 years PQE. Required Skills & Experience/ Responsibilities:
• You must attend and advise clients in areas of Employment and representing clients at tribunal if necessary.
• To respond to post, telephone enquiries and queries from clients, other professionals/experts and colleagues in order to progress cases effectively and efficiently.
• Ensure that all funding options for a case are fully researched and the most effective method of funding utilised.
• To manage a case load including a full risk assessment of all matters.
• To actively seek opportunities to cross refer work within the Firm and to carry out cross referrals at the earliest possible time.
• To delegate effectively and efficiently, ensuring that work on the file is carried out at the right level, thus maximising profitability and assisting the development of other staff.
• To report any potential errors/negligence matters to the work type managing partner as soon as the risk is apparent.
• Compliance with client care and complaints procedures.
• Ensuring that disbursements and debtors in the case load are managed in order to reduce the financial exposure of the Firm.
• To keep abreast of relevant legislation and keeping CPD requirements updated
• You must undertake the above in accordance with the Firm’s Equality & Diversity Policy

About You:
• Must be a qualified Solicitor with 0-4 years PQE
• Must have a Degree and an LPC qualification
• You have a tactical approach of prioritising your workload
• Good working knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules
• Demonstrates strong advocacy skills
• You must have a working knowledge of case management systems
• Time management/organisational skills
• Must have an up to date knowledge of relevant legislation
• Ability to remain calm under pressure
• Excellent IT and keyboard skills
• Discretion and be able to work in a confidential environment
• Ability to be flexible to suit the needs of the department
• You work well within a team as well as on your own initiative
• You are passionate about personal career development

Salary range (DOE): £25,000-£35,000

Working Hours: Monday – Friday (9am-5pm)
