Job description

The Regional Field Sales Manager (RFSM) is responsible for fostering a high performance team that meets and exceeds targets and budgets in their regional territory of Off Premise (Gas Stations, Convenience, Drug Stores, Main Markets, Retail Liquor and Retail) accounts. The RFSM is responsible for executing sales plans in key accounts and ensuring visibility and availability at all times. The RFSM is responsible for leading, mentoring, training and coaching Strikers/SAT’s within their team and ensuring sales targets and plans are executed. Additionally, the RFSM is responsible for reporting on the performance of their team to the NFSM.

·  Field Sales Management

Convert Local, Regional and National sales strategy into action plans with relevance to the local market

Execute plans to increase visibility and availability to drive volume in defined accounts

Ensure effective execution of defined blitz and promotional activities

Execute systems, processes and tools to help Strikers/SAT’s achieve their set targets

Provide reporting and feedback to stakeholders as requested

Manage the Area’s resources to ensure maximum territory coverage

·  Customer Management

Establish strong relationships with all stakeholders, including Distribution Partner Managers, National Field Sales Manager and National Account Managers

Establish new relationships with Retail, Retail Liquor, Drug Stores, Main Markets, Gas and Convenience accounts

Liaise with external suppliers and sales force where necessary to achieve set targets

Ensure effective merchandising standards in line with perfect store guidelines

Ensure achievement of core account standards and brand strategy in all accounts managed

·  People Management

Provide hands on field accompaniment to Strikers/SAT’s to coach, monitor and evaluate performance, and provide feedback to Strikers/SAT’s, maintaining a 3,5 days per week in the field.

Provide guidance to direct reports and encourage them to explore new opportunities within the framework of the department and as a result, grow in their roles with confidence

Provide quarterly and annual Targets and Assignment Setting, and Training Plans for all direct reports

Conduct formal mid-year and year-end review for all direct reports

Initiate succession plans and programs for identified high performers within the team

Develop accurate tools and measurements for assessing the success of Strikers/SAT’s to update and evolve needs as require

Play a key role in the recruitment, and on boarding of new Strikers into the team

Desired profile

Your experience includes:

(proven performance in)

· > 2 years experience in FMCG.

· Experience as a Striker or similar role in FMCG (clear understanding of a strikers role)

· Previous successful experience in leading a sales team.

· Traveling to all Regions applicable

· Valid driver’s license

· Leadership, Motivation and Team Skills.

· A commitment to people management and development with a proven ability to build and develop talent.

· Understand of the perfect store concept and top quality in-store execution

· Fluent in written & spoken English.

· Very high negotiation and interpersonal skills

· Management reporting and budget control.

· Strong presentation skills

· Implementation of “best practice” initiatives.

· Experience in setting and evaluating team KPI’s.

· Ability to work autonomously and as part of a National team.

· Strong commitment to delivering results and managing expectations.

· High operational and execution standards with a hands-on approach.

· Degree preferred

· Fluent in English, additional language skills an advantage
