Red Bull North America seeks an attorney to advise on Litigation and Labor & Employment matters. This role will work on a broad scope of both employment-related and litigation activities for all legal entities of Red Bull in both US and Canada. This individual will be responsible for identifying and analyzing legal issues, drafting key documents, presenting clear recommendations, and assuring legal compliance.

·  LITIGATION

Manage employment litigation for Red Bull North America and its affiliated companies, including threatened claims, EEOC filings, arbitrations, and court cases.

Provide support for all other pending litigation for Red Bull North America and its affiliated companies, including general liability matters, government agency claims, and certain contract disputes.

Includes management of outside counsel, development of litigation and dispute resolution strategies, investigation of claims, review of pleadings, and management of the discovery process.

Review and approve budgets, legal invoices, and legal correspondence.

·  LABOR & EMPLOYMENT LAW

Draft and support the drafting of EEOC responses and other motions within employment litigation. 

Review and provide guidance on drafting and development of labor, employment and HR-related policies and procedures, including those regarding employee discipline and termination, wage and hour classification, affirmative action, and other hiring policies. 

Provide advice and assistance regarding high exposure terminations, employment litigation, administrative claims, government audits, labor and employment compliance, and labor grievances.

Assess pre-litigation employment-related claims and negotiate resolution.  

Draft and present trainings on employment and labor issues. 

Negotiate, draft, and interpret agreements that involve labor and employment issues.

·  INTERNAL RESOURCE 

Research and provide early assessment of facts and law to communicate associated risks throughout the progress of litigation to internal clients and colleagues in the Legal Department. 

Provide first level support on litigation and labor and employment questions from department lawyers and other company stakeholders. 

Manage litigation holds, e-discovery, and document review and production for litigated matters.

Desired profile

Your experience includes:

(proven performance in)

· 3-5 years of relevant experience at a top tier law firm, in-house at a comparable company, or some combination thereof. 

· Current member in good standing, or registered in-house counsel, with the California Bar

· Experience with employment, labor and general commercial litigation 

· Experience drafting pleadings and motions, and managing discovery

· Proven track record of providing pragmatic and reasoned advice to HR and business partners

· Willingness to exercise sound judgment and creativity when approaching problems without clear answers

· Strong initiative and ability to manage multiple projects

· JD from a top tier law school

· Fluency (verbal & written) in English; additional languages a plus.
