Job description

The Digital Marketing Specialist is responsible for all social and digital aspects of Communications on a tactical level at Red Bull Canada, while also contributing to the strategic vision and business planning required for the department. In line with Red Bull’s global digital media strategy, the overall purpose of the job is to manage, lead and activate all owned and shared Red Bull digital channels. In addition, they manage and create digital and social media-tailored content, and drive engagement for Red Bull channels on third party platforms, including Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, Snapchat, and any locally applicable channels and digital outlets. The Specialist also contributes to any digital or social media elements to partnerships, event activations, and brand priorities for Red Bull throughout the year.

·  MAJOR ACTIVITIES TO ENSURE ACHIEVEMENT OF KEY RESULTS AND DELIVERABLES

Supports the Digital Marketing Manager and the national Communications team in developing and implementing the digital business plan, along with digital communication elements of Red Bull Canada’s communications plan.

Leads the daily platform management and publication of media across Red Bull Canada’s owned web platforms, apps, and social media channels.

Contributes to the management of the creation and production of media to be published across Red Bull’s distributed media network.

Constantly identifies and applies the latest digital media trends and emerging technologies across the wider media landscape, to keep Red Bull’s channels at the forefront of innovation.

Plans and executes all digital media activities:

Manages the Canadian arm of redbull.com and other owned platforms (operational & strategy)

Plans and executes a content calendar for the year on digital and social channels across all key content categories (sports, culture, gaming and others)

Manages and sets priorities for the digital contractor team, including content programming, community management, and content production

Works with digital manager and global digital team to set critical KPI’s for owned and social channels, and works to increase metrics in a tactical fashion across all key categories (visits, unique visitors, time spent, user engagement and others)

Ensures that editorial messages to consumers (text, photo, moving images) are digitally and socially optimized, user-oriented, engaging, up-to-date and accurate

Collaborates with the Digital Media editorial team at the Red Bull Media House to maximise efficiencies for content production across digital platforms (e.g. creation, production, distribution and evaluation)

Ensures technical standards and requirements are being met.

Reports to stakeholders on projects, planning and results, including generating reports and presentations as needed.

Manages and tracks own projects and ensures to stay within agreed budgets.

·  KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS

Experience in -- and a passion for -- digital media and social media platforms. A strong understanding of content production and execution across owned, earned and paid digital media.

Excellent understanding of the global digital landscape in regards to competitors, social networks and multi-platform media.

Strong content management skills across moving images, written content and photography, and expertise in social-first content such as Instagram Stories, Snapchat, and any content or video produced to engage a digital user.

Experience with a variety of content management systems and the administration platforms for social media sites, as well as experience in working with digital developers and development managers.

Ability to work quickly and efficiently in an agile environment, and a high comfort level in proactive planning and reactive execution when opportunities are presented.

An excellent understanding of how to communicate with different audiences and strong verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to negotiate, influence and build rapport at all levels, and to explain complex issues.

Excellent organizational and project management skills, along with the ability to set deadlines and work independently.

Ability to work and build relationships with a range of partners, stakeholders and external contractors.

Ability to influence and advise an organization, acting as an expert in your field.

Desired profile

Your experience includes:

(proven performance in)

· 2- 4 years’ work experience in content-focused marketing and/or editorial, preferably within a multi-national or large-scale organization or agency. 

· University degree in Marketing, Communications, Media and/or a related discipline.

· Fluent in English, additional languages would be an asset.
