Job description

Red Bull’s Culture Marketing team seeks of a passionate, arts-driven creator and curator committed to inspiring artist development and innovation in music. The Artist Relations Manager role at Japan HQ is focused on artist- and industry-facing music projects that develop and sustain the brand’s high volume of artist relationships. He/she is an excellent project manager first, an expert at converting creative ideas into realistic timelines with actionable tasks that deliver tangible results. Secondly, he/she is a creative manager with diverse music taste and a solid network of 1:1 music industry and artist relationships. (eg. J-Rock, Hip Hop, Electronic)

Passionate about music, the individuals who make music and the music creation process

Champion standardized processes but prepare for individualized solutions

 

·  Creation of Innovative Music Projects

You have the ability to identify unique, collaborative stories with on-brand artists to create inspirational projects within Red Bull Music ecosystem

Build feasibility proposals including timelines, budgets and resources necessary leading to project execution

Work cross-functionally with multiple internal and external partners to deliver a high-quality finished product that inspires further artist collaboration

 

·  Building Inspirational Experiences

Identify opportunities within Red Bull's Marketing calendar to create the right artist and/or industry experience, specifically designed to deliver insight into the motivation of who we work with

Work cross-functionally with internal teams to develop these opportunities into VIP/inspirational experiences for the artists we work with

Convert artists' inspirational experience into Marketing portfolio participation (e.g. Red Bull Music Studios and Sales)

 

·  Establishing Communication Workflows

You are an "active listener", and allow others to come up with solutions by asking the right questions

Organize project tasks based on internal and external communication timelines

Understand the importance of efficient, context-specific communication across multiple stakeholders on a project

Solve for communication workflow challenges created by team members in different locations, with different objectives and who have different solutions for success

Produce and/or manage realistic budgets, timelines and resource requirements leading to project delivery

Recognize the difference between theory and reality, and make pragmatic decisions that lead to meeting deadlines

Anticipate problems and act to solve for them

Communicate with all stakeholders and welcome their insight and suggestions throughout the production process

 

·  Delivering Across Business Needs

Manage and deliver a diverse range of global artist requests across the Red Bull business based on the successful delivery and results of the above tools

Your experience includes:

(proven performance in)

· 
5+ years in a creative-based role (editorial, record label, agency, management, etc.) working directly with music artists on deadline-driven projects

· 
3+ years experience working within a complex brand or advertising agency structure

· 
Strong management skills: Management of external partners and responsibility for delivering group-driven KPIs

· 
Fluent in written and spoken English and Japanese.  EDV (Word, Excel, Power Point, etc.)

· 
Interested and open to different cultural playgrounds.  Creative and innovative mind set, open for new things

· 
A proven track record demonstrating a self-motivated work ethic; an entrepreneurial approach to projects; the ability to multi-task and prioritize tasks across multiple projects; organizing project deadlines and delivering results; and excellent verbal and written communication skills including project presentations and recaps

· 
An established network of diverse and well-respected artist and music industry contacts - good net worker

· 
A proven "taste" record identifying, supporting and delivering results for innovative music artists and projects

· 
Clear understanding of global entertainment, music and culture industry (incl. legal and licensing), as well as a firm understanding of youth Culture market & scenes in Japan

· 

Univeristy Degree or multiple years of working experience in a professional music industry/artist environment

· 

Fluent in written and spoken English and Japanese
