The Business

For a hands on strategic solution architect with the drive and enthusiasm to really make a difference, this is an exciting time to become part of our Digital Technology function. You'll have a pivotal role to play in driving our efforts to build and refine a stronger digital identity within Personal & Business Banking, and alongside enjoying significant development opportunities, contribute to the delivery of strategic world class digital solutions.

The Personal & Business Banking Digital Technology function exists to provide technology skills, capabilities and business value to our customers and the organisation through the delivery of Technology solutions.

What you'll do

You'll essentially be responsible for the delivery of strategic solution designs that are aligned to our Digital and wider technology strategy and architecture. Working toward meeting our objective of building our level of Solution Architecture and driving levels of re-use to support agility, you'll be:

· Supporting the effective delivery of Technology components, understanding context of work within strategic change agenda and projected business outcomes with consideration to time,cost, and quality of service
· Contributing to the Digital Bank platform roadmaps that define the IT service to our customers, both applications and infrastructure
· Collaborating with and maintaining strong partnerships with key stakeholders to make sure risks are effectively managed
· Working with Business Analysts, Technical Designers, Architects and Developers to further refine requirements into artefacts which are engineered for re-use
· Contributing to building an expert understanding across the Digital technology design community around methods, tools, processes and capabilities which enable us to deliver world class digital solutions for our customers

What you'll bring

You'll have a solid and broad understanding of the technical landscape, but just as importantly, be well versed in digital management experience, able to act as a digital technology champion. With experience of Omnichannel design, you'll be someone who is channel and devise agnostic, so you'll be able to demonstrate the ability to work across multiple channels.

Expert in the use of design frameworks and taxonomies, you'll understand object orientated specifications and be adept in its analysis and design, and be confident in your ability to produce delivery aligned to a strategy.

We'd also like to see demonstration of the following experience and skills:

· Conducting solution design and development within a large scale transactional organisation
· A broad understanding of solution architectures, preferably J2EE
· Understanding UML specifications in all its forms and transform that into UML designs, following an existing framework or models
· Awareness and use of models (BIAN, IFW, ISO) in solution design
· Experience of Service Orientated Architectures (SOA)
· Business Process Management, ideally IBM BPM v8.5+, specifically Process Designer, Process Centre and Process Server
· Client side design skills

While your technical expertise is crucial, you'll also need to bring to the table the ability to form and develop productive and effective working relationships with a range of stakeholders. You'll be capable of influencing, and have excellent communication and presentation skills, able to present complex ideas with ease and clarity to a wide audience including non technical audiences.
