Job description
The Requirements
If you're organised, flexible, and pride yourself on your ability to deliver exceptional customer service whilst being able to simplify complex concepts for customers, this opportunity as Mobile Branch Driver could be ideally suited to you. In this ever changing role, you'll be in a position to represent the business, and become a distinguished figure in the various communities that you provide a service for.
Personal & Business Banking (PBB) exists to provide a helpful and straightforward banking service to over 16 million personal and small business customers in the UK. Our customers will account for around half of RBS's total business in the future, and we are committed to meeting their needs for straightforward products, helpful and convenient service, and good advice.
The Mobile Branch Banking service operates 5 days a week, all year round and can accept deposits, cash withdrawals, bill payments, and has on-board customer phone facilities for contacting central areas to enquire about loans, credit cards, mortgages, insurance and more.
What you'll do
As Mobile Branch Driver, you'll form strong and trusted relationships with our customers in various locations by providing quality customer interactions and meeting their daily requirements. Your responsibilities will cover a vast array of everyday branch processes and procedures, from account opening and the balancing and verification of money and accurate data, to supporting the achievement of the branch service targets while ensuring the safe operation of the vehicle. You'll also take ownership for your own personal development, and keep up to date with key communications and changes to products and services by participating in training and briefing activities.
A significant element of your role will be the maintenance of the Mobile Branch vehicle, and you'll be required to carry out daily checks, ensuring cleanliness and compliance to all health and safety regulations, the safeguarding of any passengers, and reporting any defects or problems immediately. As well as this, you'll have an up to date knowledge of both the Highway Code and RBS policies but your key focus will be on providing a convenient and personal service with the customer at the heart of everything you do.
What you'll bring
You'll bring your passion for customer service and exceeding expectations to help drive trust and advocacy for our products and services. With strong attention to detail, you'll be comfortable working under pressure and have the desire to continuously improve standards for our customers. We'll also be looking for ambition, strong communication abilities and a commitment to developing new skills and responsibilities. As part of your journey, we'll provide you with over 100 hours of training and development and also support you in achieving the Professional Banker Certificate. Upon completing your qualification and demonstrating satisfactory performance, you'll be promoted to the role of Personal Banker.
You must be 21 years or over in order to hold a valid Driving Licence with existing category C1 (which you will preferably already have) required to operate a Mobile Branch vehicle. However, comprehensive training will be provided and any cost incurred to obtain appropriate licences will be reimbursed.
How we'll reward you
You'll receive a competitive reward package of between £16,461 and £22,575 pa. (pro rata for hours worked)
This comprises a base salary of between £13,169 and £18,060 pa and an additional 25% of your salary as an allowance. You can tailor these benefits to suit your lifestyle with access to things like our retirement savings plans, healthcare schemes, and the chance to buy additional holidays.
On top of this reward package you will participate in a bonus scheme linked to helping our customers and the success of the business.
You'll also receive a generous holiday allocation of 33 days per year, made up of 25 days plus 8 bank holidays (pro rata for hours worked)
