Corporate & Institutional Banking (CIB) is our wholesale banking business, serving large corporate clients, financial institutions, governments and their agencies. We meet clients' needs by helping them raise, protect, and move money – activities which support all the economies where we operate, particularly in the UK.
Trustee & Depositary Services (TDS) is the market-leading independent trustee and depositary to the UK collective investment scheme (CIS) industry. We have provided trustee or depositary services for nearly 80 years, and serve approximately 42% of the UK CIS market.
What you'll do
The Risk & Compliance team in TDS provides a full, high quality compliance monitoring service to all clients, overseeing scheme assets to make sure that they comply with all the relevant regulations and restrictions. We also have a client facing dimension, promptly responding to queries and providing regulatory guidance.
As a Derivatives Officer you'll play an important part in the integrity of our data, posting derivative trade and Foreign Exchange deals, and downloading prices on a daily basis, as well as keeping our automated alert systems up-to-date with accurate investment scheme and security data, including checking it against the legal documentation. You'll be an important point of contact for any queries relating to posting, and will make sure our mail boxes are kept up to date.
You'll be making sure that scheme holdings are eligible with the FCA COLL rules, and you'll need an understanding of the regulations to be effective. We'll expect you to keep fully updated on any regulatory changes, and to understand their impact on our alert systems and on the Data Research team.
What you'll bring
You'll need some knowledge of securities and markets, and the FCA regulatory framework as it relates to collective investment schemes.
Attention to detail is important, and you should have experience with MS Office applications, particularly PowerPoint and Excel. Operating efficiently is important to our team, so you'll need the abilitty to spot and act on opportunities to make improvements.
Your interpersonal and communication skills will also be important, as you'll need to collaborate fully with your colleagues, and be able to clearly and effectively articulate risks and ideas.
