We have a big part to play in the bank's transformation, and we'll have a genuine impact on the wider goal of building a better bank.
What you'll do
In this role, you'll typically be working as part of a small project team that tackles Lineage analysis impacting any part of the bank, under the leadership of the Lead Data Analyst. You'll be a key interface between the project and the frontline functions and franchises, where you'll build and maintain strong relationships with our clients and stakeholders. You'll be tracking Key Data Elements (KDEs) through the banks systems to create end to end diagrams that detail how this data flows, delivering this to the both the banks franchises and functions along with detailed Lineage Analysis reports.
You'll firstly ensure that any reports or processes are aligned to a specific business outcome from the relevant franchise or function, and then decompose these reports and processes to identify the KDEs contained within them. Through investigating, identifying and understanding the systems that the KDEs flow through, you'll be able to deliver high quality solutions for the business, includes analysis solutions, where key progress checkpoints are established, monitored and controlled.
In the role you'll:
· Perform lineage analysis using Informatica, the banks Metadata Management tool, to prove the traceability of KDEs from reports to data fields held within the bank's systems
· Create Lineage analysis reports that summarise and present the output to the banks franchises and functions, providing options and recommendations where appropriate
· Assist in the identification, assessment, management and escalation of project risks and issues
The need to travel as necessary to our strategic locations is a requirement of this role.
What you'll bring
As a Data Analyst you'll have experience in a business change environment, with a good understanding of data quality and data governance frameworks. You'll ideally have a sound understanding of business analysis and project management methodologies, and their practical application. Experience in Data Analysis, business process redesign and operating model definition would be preferred. You'll also bring experience in defining and documenting business requirements.
You'll show strong interpersonal skills, communicating effectively both written and verbally, together with the ability to plan, organise and manage your time effectively. You'll also exhibit sound decision making skills and the ability to exercise good judgement under pressure, as well as being able to look forward and identify the possibility of any risks that may arise.
