Assistant Relationship Director
Graduate job Reading (Reading) Accounting / Management control
Job description
The Requirements
We're looking for a customer-focused Assistant Relationship Director to join our Corporate and Commercial Coverage team in Commercial & Private Banking. In this role you'll have the opportunity to develop your career profile, as you interact with a wide range of clients and colleagues across all areas of our business. You'll be working with experienced Relationship Directors, as you help us build strong and productive client relationships, and harness a deep understanding of our customers' needs and financial goals.
Our priority in Commercial & Private Banking (CPB) is to deepen our relationships with commercial clients and open up new opportunities for them. As the number one bank for small and medium-sized enterprises in the UK, we have a strong foundation to build on. By incorporating our market-leading wealth management franchises, we can also connect successful entrepreneurs with our leading private bankers.
What you'll do
You'll support a group of Relationship and Senior Relationshin Directors, who are responsible for creating and maintaining relationships with a diverse portfolio of clients. Our relationship teams are striving to produce strong and sustainable customer relationships, based upon communication, trust, simplicity and great choice. You'll play a key part in this process.
You'll interact directly with clients and be providing a crucial first point of contact for queries and concerns regarding a wide range of subjects. You'll work on your own initiative to find practicable solutions to problems, but you'll also have the support of the wider team and have the opportunity to learn from seasoned Senior Relationship Managers.
You'll be providing a crucial channel of communication, conveying information and queries to our Relationship teams and relevant business and service partners, while professionally managing client expectations. You'll be using your sharp eye for detail and business sense to identify and escalate issues and risks where appropriate.
You'll contribute to the smooth running of client meetings by producing high quality and well researched agendas and briefs. You'll also be attending client visits to deepen you understanding of their business goals and banking needs. You'll have the opportunity to manage portfolios when Relationship Managers are absent, and you'll lead by example by upholding our core values and delivering outstanding customer service.
What you'll bring
To take on this role we're looking for someone with experience of delivering high quality customer service in a related work environment. Commercial knowledge and experience would be a plus, but just as important is the enthusiasm for this area of work and the willingness to learn and broaden your experience in relationship management.
You'll have strong organisational and team-working skills, and be able to contribute positively to an environment that motivates and empowers others to succeed. You'll build and maintain good knowledge of our products and systems, and you'll have the adaptable communication skills to simplify complex terms and concepts, and build clear and trusting relationships with a wide variety of clients and colleagues. Above all you'll have a strong customer-focused approach and put our customers' interests at the heart of everything you do.
How we'll reward you
In return, we offer a competitive salary plus 25% cash and benefit funding programme that can be tailored to suit your individual needs. In addition, we provide a wide selection of exclusive lifestyle offers, development and learning programmes, services and support designed to help you manage and balance your work/life priorities.
