The Requirements

If you're a talented Analytics professional with good commercial awareness, this is an opportunity to take on an role with great development potential in our new Data & Analytics team, supporting Commercial & Private Banking (CPB). As Assistant Analytics Manager you'll be gathering and interpreting data to help inform decision within CPB. You'll have the chance to work with a range of business areas across CPB, as we draw together the vital information which will help us build for the future and better serve our customers.

In Data & Analytics, we have the task of pulling all of the bank's data into a single version of the truth. Our brief has been set by the highest levels of authority in the bank, and as such the work we do is high visibility and of huge significance. We have a big part to play in the bank's transformation, and we'll have a genuine impact on the wider goal of building a better bank.

What you'll do

The effective use and interpretation of data is crucial to our business' success. As Assistant Analytics Manager you'll be contributing to the creation of high value data driven insight to enhance client engagement, improve decision making and increase efficiency on a range of our key products. You'll be using a variety of insight methodologies to drive returns in investment through improved product performance and greater customer satisfaction.

This will involve working alongside the team manager on larger projects and managing work streams within key product focused projects. You'll be liaising with colleagues from across CPB to discuss and interpret product performance and devise solutions to meet their specific needs. You'll be harnessing the data gathering systems and capacity we have in Data & Anayltics to provide clear and responsive data analysis, with tangible value and business focus.

In the course of your work you'll also be developing a deep understanding of the business to ensure that analysis is embedded in everyday decision-making.

What you'll bring

To succeed in this role you'll need to be an astute and adaptable analyst with a developing base of knowledge in commercial banking. You'll need excellent analytic skills and a great eye for detail in order to manage and interpret large quantities of data, with insight and precision. Experience of working across a wide range of data platforms and experience in visual analytics would also be advantageous, but is not essential.

In addition, you'll need to be a flexible and assured communicator, able to establish strong relationships with a wide range of colleagues and stakeholders, as you'll be interpreting their data needs and explaining data driven insights in a clear and engaging way.

You'll also need:

·  A working knowledge and experience of using Teradata / SAS Enterprise Guide ideally
·  A background in SAS and other coding packages, using insight analytics
·  A naturally inquisitive mind, coupled with the lateral thinking abilities required to solve problems through indirect and creative approaches
