Couture Assistant Internship

Job description

This internship provides the experience of working in a London atelier, directly under the designer of a small, growing luxury couture brand.

You will learn to assist with
- preparing, cutting and marking fabrics
- tracing and altering patterns
- couture hand sewing techniques and finishes
- hand embellishment

We endeavor to give our interns the opportunity to work on in-house projects such as our growing sample collection, as well as assisting with the preparation of pieces for clients, allowing for a diverse range of skills and techniques to be learnt and improved upon.
We take interns for a period of 40 days. This is spread over 3 months at 3 days per week, with a degree of flexibility. The working day is 8 hours, plus 30mins lunch.
Unfortunately we do not cover any expenses.

Desired profile

Applicants must have
- experience of garment construction
- a good knowledge of patterns
- neat and accurate hand sewing skills
- an eye for detail
- efficient time management
- excellent team skills
