Junior Marine Claims Specialist Handler

Responsibilities
- Managing a significant volume of marine claims from start through to settlement;
- Identifying and escalating serious claim developments to management, both efficiently and effectively;
- Responsible for the daily administration and management of the overall claim operation;
- Coordinating claims activities, working closely with the Insurance Manager and with the external experts (such as loss adjusters, legal counsel etc…);
- Maintaining accurate claims statistics and preparing reports;
- Maintaining managers informed about the claim status;
- Ensuring that all claims will be handled within authority limits, in line with procedures and guidelines;
- Recognising the need for negotiation and negotiating within the scope of authority;
- Settling claims in the most cost effective and timely manner.

Requirements
- Swiss citizen or C permit;
- Knowledge of claims, as well as insurance industry;
- Developing technical expertise and negotiation skills;
- Ability to negotiate and settle claims effectively;
- Previous claims experience from a maritime background;
- Fluent in Italian;
- English level B2 as a minimum;
- Technical knowledge in commodities would be desirable;
- 2 years of relevant work experience would be desirable;
- Age max 35 years old.
