Entry/Graduate Level - Animatronics Internship

Job description

We run a prop making workshop, where we are prototyping a range of animatronic mannequins for an art installation later in the year. We are looking for an animatronics assistant, who can aid our current designer in the installing of certain mechs in the workshop.

Requirements:

As a key part of the design team, you would be responsible for assisting in the follow areas mechanical design and structural analysis of animatronic figures and mechanical effects. Building upon established best practices and project specifications, you will incorporate industry and client standards, explore novel design concepts, specify purchased components, create production drawings, support part production, and participate in prototype builds/debugging.

This position is Monday-Friday, Hours TBC.
It is a contract role for two months provided a trial period is completed to establish skill set.

As mentioned this project is always growing and changing and the role has potential to and will likely become more involved and stretch beyond the initial contract.

Desired profile

Because this is a specialized position, specific prior experience is not expected. We are seeking candidates with electrical, mechanical, and technical capabilities who are energetic and self-motivated individuals willing to be trained. Problem solving is a must as this project is always evolving.
