Data Cabling Engineer

Job description

We are currently recruiting a Data Cabling Engineer on a 12-month contract to join a friendly team working on a large project across the UK. You will be installing, terminating and testing structured cabling with the ability to work alone or part of a team.

Relevant experience an advantage, but must be confident in your own working ability and must have attention to detail and offer good customer service.

Based in Peterborough with the project being delivered UK-wide, the successful applicant must be flexible with working hours and be willing to work away. In return you will receive an attractive rate of pay, good working conditions and tools are provided.

Skills & Qualities

To successfully deliver on projects, you will need to be resourceful, organised, use your experience and possess the following key skills.

• Installation, testing & terminating of CAT 5 & 6 cabling
• Experience with Patch Panels
• Copper cabling experience, Fibre an advantage
• Rack building and wiring
• Ability to follow cable schedules & risk and method statements
• Organisation for day to day running with relation to van stock/paperwork / communication
• Engineering health and safety training and knowledge
• Have a full UK driving licence.
• Be flexible and willing to work hard to deliver beyond client expectations. This includes a willingness to work away and occasional unsociable hours.

CSCS, PASMA & IPAF would be advantageous
