Job description
Volunteer Tasks:
(Please note that tasks may vary depending on your preference and time of your internship)
Education:
- Cooperation with local staff to create and implement educational standards,
- Revision of the Curriculum,
- Planning and implementation of extra-curricular activities,
- Organization of internship placements, negotiation of education partnerships, workshops, etc.
Public Relations/Fundraising:
- Provision of public relation material for European fundraising and advertisement activities,
- Creation of media content of website and Facebook page,
- Photographic operations,
- Fundraising with local businesses and NGOs,
- Maintaining and expanding the business network.
Requirements:
- Excellent English speaking and writing skills,
- Proficient IT knowledge (MS-Office),
- Preferably first-hand experience in developing countries,
- High level of proactive and independent work style,
- Flexibility and dynamism
- Ability to cope with stress and frustration,
- Good communication skills,
- Ability to work in a team and willingness to go ‘the extra mile’,
- Cultural sensitivity, Energetic, positive and constructive attitude.

About PROJECT-E:
PROJECT-E (www.project-e.eu) is a German/Austrian non-governmental organization. It provides high-quality, market-oriented vocational education for young women from socially destitute backgrounds in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia since 2008. The program is unique in its approach and enjoys a high reputation for quality, professional volunteers and sustainability. In order to assure financial sustainability an Income Generating strategy has been developed to make our projects as independent of charity donations as possible.
Handing over our first project, a Secretarial Science College, to our local partner organization marks a great success in the history of PROJECT-E and allows us to focus our efforts on new tasks and responsibilities.
Our second education program is a response to the growing demand for qualified hotel and service staff based on a comprehensive market study of the labor market in Addis Ababa. In October the Hospitality Institute successfully started operations with the first class of students.
The work of volunteers at PROJECT-E is exceptionally challenging and diverse. Since the Hospitality Institute is a young project you will be able to actually shape its future and therefore have a huge impact on the continuity of PROJECT-E.
