Packaging Designer

Purpose of role:  We are looking for a talented Junior Graphic Designer with at least 1 years’ experience with a strong interest in Packaging Design. Working in a small in-house design team you will have confidence to use your initiative to get the job done quickly and efficiently to a high standard.

 
Key Responsibilities:
·        Responsible for development and implementation of ideas, and designs for the creative output for the Primark                brand
·        Working with the creative team from concept design to following designs through to production for Packaging,                Branding and logo projects
·        Support & help the creative design team and provide inspiration
·        Creating innovative packaging & graphic design solutions
·        Interpreting company briefs
·        Liaising with the B&M team and accommodating their needs
·        Producing, reviewing and amending packaging mock ups and samples
·        Designing/amending artwork when required
·        Liaising with photographers, suppliers and printers
·        Updating brand guidelines
·        Following design from conception all the way through to production
·        Working on layouts and artwork for print
·        Design, develop and evolve ticketing and packaging that is relevant to the product and brand.

Skills/Knowledge/Experience:

·        Degree in design or equivalent
·        Previous experience of working with Packaging design would be preferred
·        Ideally 1 – 2 years’ experience or an outstanding graduate
·        Highly fluent on a Mac base machine operating in Adobe Creative Suite including InDesign, Photoshop &                      Illustrator
·        Excellent illustration and visualisation skills and eye for detail
·        A keen eye for typography
·        Excellent verbal and visual communication skills
·        Willingness to train and develop new skills
·        Ability to work as part of a creative studio team as well as independently
·        Good industry awareness and an interest in fashion
·        A strong creative and structured approach
·        Flexibility and openness to change
·        Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment/ “can do” attitude
·        Innovative & creative approach blended with common sense & commerciality
·        Experience in Fashion Retail would be preferable but not essential
