Your responsibilities
You are challenged to actively contribute to all aspects of agile software development (planning, tracking, architecture, development, configuration management, testing, integration, validation). You will have the opportunity to have frequent customer contact, collaborate with highly experienced team members and participate in diverse, technology-driven projects in a highly flexible and innovative environment.
 
As a software designer in one of the teams you will work on several assignments within one of the groups: Cloud, Mobile, Connectivity, Integration & Verification, and Systems Engineering. You will be responsible for one of the following:
Working on diverse aspects of software for connected devices such as embedded SW, networking and connectivity, internet of things applications, automated testing and more
Implementing and optimizing front and back end cloud solutions for data acquisition, secure storage, analytics and visualization challenges
Developing native apps connected to Philips technology, complex algorithms, and intuitive user interfaces or data collection solutions
Developing user friendly (integrating innovative human interaction and advanced graphics) and powerful applications by integrating highly complex algorithms. Currently our applications target desktops/laptops or surfaces like tablets

As a graduate you will join Philips Innovation Services as a software designer in one of the different groups (Cloud, Mobile, Connectivity, Integration & Verification and Systems Engineering), in which you will be fulfilling challenging assignments and projects. This means working on complex algorithms, creating intuitive and simple interfaces to Philips technology and data collection for research and business purposes. On a daily basis, we push the boundaries of what’s possible with our innovative technology.

We are looking for
 
To be successful in this program you are a self-starter with an entrepreneurial spirit, eager and ambitious. Are you the one we are looking for? You can apply for this opportunity if you:
have recently graduated or will within half a year with a Master’s Degree in the directions of Software Engineering (e.g. Computer Sciences, Technical Informatics). Or you have less than 1 year of work experience straight after your graduation;
have excellent inter-personal and communication skills;
have a problem solving and pragmatic attitude;
are driven to improve coding;
are a fast learner and ambitious to grow within team and departments;
speak and write fluent English.

if you achieve the required score on this test, you will be invited for face-to-face interviews in October/November with one of our recruiters;
if you pass this interview, you will be invited for a follow-up interview with a line manager. These interviews will take place in week 49, 50 and 51 2015;
the most suitable candidates will be invited for our Business Challenge (assessments) in the Netherlands, 14th  and 15th of January 2016. During the event you will spend 1.5 day with similar minded graduates, working on a range of highly challenging exercises in a number of business-related scenarios. This is the final step in the selection process.
