In this role, you have the opportunity to

Innovate and develop pulse sequences and start a meaningful career in MRI within a highly motivated international team. In the Research & Development department in MRI, you will join a global team of software and hardware engineers developing the next generation of MR systems. As a pulse programming developer, you will be responsible

·  To innovate new pulse sequences for MR acquisition
·  To develop and optimize sequences to provide improvements in image quality or new clinical applications
·  To work in cooperation with other disciplines and across global boundaries

You are responsible for

·  Innovating, specifying, prototyping, engineering, testing and documenting MR pulse sequences
·  As part of a team you will bring clinical MR features from research stage through advanced development into products in the field by delivering product quality software and documentation.
·  This involves extension and optimization of the existing Philips MR software with emphasis on clinical functionality and usability, operating in a strong cross-functional interaction across all business disciplines, like hardware, software, system integration and verification, marketing and product application.
·  Furthermore you will have the opportunity to maintain contacts with clinical sites and other groups within Philips to exchange and advance knowledge in the application of MR physics to new areas.
·  You will contribute to conferences and file patent disclosures, and over time have opportunities to expand your skills into other areas of MR development.

You are a part of

The Business Innovation Unit Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) within Philips Healthcare . The BIU MRI is responsible for marketing, product development and lifecycle management of the whole radiology portfolio, including 3T, 1.5T High/Mid/Value performance, and 7T Research MRI systems.

Within the BIU MRI you will join the R&D Clinical Excellence team based in Best, the Netherlands. This team of about 25 developers includes experts in both pulse programming and reconstruction algorithms. It is highly committed and successful in delivering new clinical features like mDixon, MultiVane XD and MultiBand SENSE to the market.

To succeed in this role, you should have the following skills and experience

·  Qualifications:
·  Post-graduate degree (Masters or PhD) in MR related science like Physics, Bio-Engineering, etc.
·  Experience:
·  Good understanding of MR physics and preferably also experience with MR pulse sequence development, either during PhD or within the medical devices industry
·  Experience with clinical MR applications and image quality assessment
·  Affinity with programming in C++ for clinically relevant applications development
·  Proven innovation ability (e.g. patents, journal papers)
·  Personal characteristics:
·  Creative and innovative, with a strong feeling for delivering high quality software
·  Excellent communication skills (English language) and the ability to interact with multidisciplinary professionals
·  Ability to perform in a complex and highly regulated environment
·  Willing to take risks in order to create advanced concepts through fast prototyping, and able to engineer these prototypes into solid product designs
·  Quality minded and customer focused
·  Ambitious and with the drive to develop yourself
