We are looking for an enthusiastic individual focused in the Construction sector who would relish the challenge of working in a team of nationally based Project Managers delivering a variety of refurbishment, roll-out and trial projects across a large and growing portfolio of stores. The role will be field based, with significant UK travel anticipated to support business needs. It is anticipated that this role will develop into a New Store and Refits Project Manager in coming years and so provides the ideal development opportunity for the right individual. Reporting to the Head of Projects, key responsibilities will include:-
Key Responsibilities;
* Manage and deliver high quality small projects ranging from single-room builds, HVAC installations, Grooming Salon and other small refurbishments to quality standards, to time and to approved budgets.
* Prepare work schedules, tenders, budgets and all necessary supporting project documentation for allocated projects.
* Build strong relationships and liaise with landlords, developers and internal departments to ensure smooth delivery of all projects.
* Maintain strong relationships with external consultants, suppliers and contractors, ensuring a strong team ethic is achieved.
* Deliver best value at all times and contribute to departmental continual improvement initiatives.
* Manage and continually improve site Health & Safety and statutory compliance.
* Provide technical advice, drive innovation and seek opportunities to ensure the business remains at the forefront of the industry.
* Understand current specification and find ways to adapt in order to drive cost down and quality up.
* Maintain and manage existing process documents in addition to creating method statements for new processes.
Skills required
* You will have good knowledge of the built environment and construction techniques, ideally having a degree qualification (or equivalent) in a relevant subject.
* You will have a strong understanding of the importance of your customer and a determination to deliver Great Customer Service, understanding the pivotal role that Development Team play in this along with the commitment to delivering excellent customer service.
* A desire to partake in a development role, to continually improve with a drive to become a new store/refit Project Manager
* The ability to manage multi-site projects within challenging timescales.
* A passion for ensuring completeness and excellence in all aspects, from conception, to Handover, through to maintenance.
* A high level of competence in cost management, budget adherence and presentation.
* Great organisational skills, proven to work to strict deadlines across all aspects of the project.
* Possess a good knowledge of construction Health & Safety legislation and the ability to translate this into improved site standards.
* A good knowledge of Excel would be a great advantage
* A proven ability to manage and motivate others to deliver.
* Be a committed team player but be self-motivated and able to operate remotely.
* The ability to present project proposals concisely but thoroughly.
