Functie omschrijving Java Architect - Amsterdam
As a Team Lead of their software development team you will be directly in charge of all technical software development activities within their fast growing company. The building of your new inhouse developmentteam will be one of your most important initial tasks besides leading their permanent nearshore development team in Kiev. As a Java Lead Developer / Architect you will contribute to the development of their new cloud platform Jobsrepublic ONE. Innovative software that helps people connect with jobs that really fit their talents, ambitions, motivation and skills. Software that makes people happier and organizations more successful.
- Leading an international team of 3-5 software developers and testers in Amsterdam and Kiev (offshore).
- Expanding the software development team in Amsterdam by hiring the best.
- Making all important technical and operational decisions about solutions in the technical architecture, procedures and guidelines on security, performance, code quality. And continuously monitoring and improving the performance on the aspects.
- Working with the team and the product owner to define a prioritized backlog of stories that the team will tackle during the sprints.
- Being fully hands-on in terms of writing code and participating in software development projects.
- Mentoring people on the team and help them improve their skills and performance.
Functie eisen Java Architect - Amsterdam
- Bachelor/Master degree.
- A minimum of 5 years of work experience in hands-on software development and architectural design.
- You are an Agilie fanatic and have solid experience with agile methods, preferable with Scrum.
- Good knowledge of Java development and previously worked with Spring MVC frameworks.
- Experience with Java7/Spring, RESTful API's, XML, HTML5, Tomcat, Linux, MySQL, Spring MVC, Spring Integration, JPA/Hibernate, and Hibernate Search/Lucene.
- Knowledge of Object Relational Mapping, Business Process Modelling (Activiti BPM), Microservices, Single Page Applications (JavaScript), NoSQL databases (MongoDB) and Unit testing including mocking frameworks (Mockito) is an advantage.
- Experience with front-end frameworks. Experience with BackboneJS would be an advantage.
- A solid understanding of design concepts and design patterns.
- Used to work with Continuous Integration and Deployment tools.
- You are comfortable with being hands-on, i.e. code writing and problem solving.
- You have a sound understanding of programming fundamentals and their application to highly scalable SaaS or Cloud-based software.
- You have at least two years of experience in leading development teams.
- You have a pragmatic outlook and excellent communication skills in English.
