Experienced Production Operators

Chivas Brothers Warehousing Team, based in Dalmuir, is seeking experienced Production Operators to join them for a 12 month Fixed Term contract. You will be required to transfer to other warehousing/operations departments to meet production requirements within the central belt of Scotland (Balgray, Airdrie, Willowyard, Dumbuck).

You will be required to carry out the full range of warehousing, vat rooms and operations tasks necessary to enable new spirit to be processed into mature blended spirit within the warehousing and operations areas, in order to meet business goals and customer requirements. This will also include the operating of tanker loading and unloading and covers all cask handling activities. Familiarity with business systems is essential and the use of hand held data terminals is also desirable. You will be accountable for the quantity and quality of personal output and the environment created by the way the work is done. You will demonstrate excellent communication skills while demonstrating the ability to work to achieve tight deadlines and be able to maintain high standards of Health and Safety. You must also have the ability to work on your own initiative, be self-motivated, driven and enthusiastic to contribute to the business continuous improvement process.

In your role as Production Operator, you will be an integral part of a team reporting to the Process Leader, with some of your key responsibilities listed below:

· Operate computerised or manual control systems to efficiently control the operational process.
· Receive casks into warehousing to meet customer and inventory requirements.
· Remove casks from warehousing to meet customer demands.
· Fill and dispatch casks to meet customer requirements.
· Set up, monitor and close down cask filling process to meet customer requirements.
· Receipt casked spirit and store in warehousing to meet company specification and customer requirements.
· Record and retrieve data when required.
· Receive and disgorge filled casks to meet blending requirements and vatting supply.
· Carry out routine maintenance to minimise disruption to production.
· Control empty casks to meet inventory requirements on filling, dumping and storage. Record data appropriately.

· Consolidate part filled tiers to maximise warehouse utilisation.
· Carry out stock checking and leak hunting to meet company legislative requirements.
· Carry out regauging to update cask content information.
· Team working to deliver all inventory requirements.

· Environmental awareness within the workplace.
· Maintain work area using 5S techniques.
· Compliance within the company ISO accreditations; 9001; 14001; 22000; 18001
